Another good herb, used more to increase blood sugar levels (among other things) is Licorice Root

It's 50 times sweeter than cane sugar!

Licorice root should be used with caution by anyone with hypertension. Pregnant women and people on Coumadin should not use it. Just a precaution. We strive to provide safe information to our members and guests.

The warty bitter gourd contains a compound called polypeptide-p, which is similar to insulin, as it's been proven to lower blood sugar and increase glucose tolerance. People in India usually mix the juice of it into a tea or other drink.

I believe cinnamon is a sugar stabilization herb, not to mention a demulcent
Regulate Blood Sugar Levels
Cinnamon is a popular garnish atop many desserts. While many of us choose cinnamon in desserts for its unique taste, this choice also reflects the body's innate wisdom. Cinnamon regulates blood sugar and its stimulating pungency makes it perfect for heavy, sweet foods. Cinnamon also regulates metabolism of fats and sugars, helping with type II diabetes and insulin resistance.
