Hmm, Fery Wicca? I am planning on going for my Priesthood with the WCC, and I am tempted to make sure I devote my time to making sure that as much knowledge and Information can be found. I do not understand why people would think that a creature that is featured in so many religions is just a minor path. \it really doesn't make much sense too me,but then people often don't make sense too me :P

well what it boils down to is that they are thought to be the guardians of the Faery and there for part of faery wicca as a whole. What most forget is that because of the way dragons were treated they sided with the Faery and went to the Faery realm to live and as having entered the Faery realm they agreed to guard their gates for them as thanks for being allowed in, there is a whole history of dragons and information because there is really a whole mythology about them.
So as you can see thats why alot combine them together and dont really see Draconic Wicca as an actual branch of Wicca.
In fact one of the beliefs is that when you prove yourself worth and are allowed pass the gates into the Faery realm is when your dragon will show itself, or pick you.
I myself simi believe this, only because I have two dragons One baby dragon I only just realized I had about three years ago and a black/red one that teaches me some times in my dreams and is who opened my eyes to a lot of my abilities again, the reason why I believe this is connected to seeing the Faery realm is only because after about two years of analyzing my dreams with my dragon I realized that place we visited originally was the gate to the realm and only after working with him for awhile and this goddess and her two male guards that i saw more then just the gate.

(sorry if that dosent make since that all JUST poped into my head and came together as off three mins ago about the whole gate stuff with my dragon and now im off to go research something lol)

@Sym: Wow Sym, that's quite amazing. :D I agree with Mea, you have outstanding research capabilities. I reconized some of it as having read it before, but there was some that I hadn't. Kudos!
Too bad that site is gone. I'm glad I printed off the information years ago. It was a valuable resource and one of the first Dragon magic websites I ever visited.

And I am here now. I have been away for the last few days. I'm happy to help.
Brimstone Fendrake wrote:Alright, stupid hammyness aside, serious Question. I have only ever found two actual sites that are ((Half decent at it's lowest)) and one of them I can no longer find. The Fox-Moon site that you are all talking about.
That was an awesome site. Its been around for years. I'm sad and suprised that its gone now. Oh well. The other website I used a lot was Cland of the Dragon
Brimstone Fendrake wrote:Does anyone know what happened to it? Cause now it's just an ad domain, with no information. I was reading that site constantly, and then I had to stop for a bit and now it seems to be gone.
They probably lost the domain or couldn't afford the website any more. It costs money to host websites. They also could have lost interest. Many things can happen. There are other websites out there though.
Brimstone Fendrake wrote:So here is my question. Is there any site I could go tooo that could give me a large sum of information. Second poster did one hell of a number on the research thing but I don't think I saw any source. Any help?
I found some one who archived Foxmoon's Dragon website!

Fox Moon Dragon magic archived

That blog also seems to have their own additional information on the page. So its worth a look.

WOO! Thank you all foor your help, and I am glad the site was Archived. Thank you also for all ideas and info you gave me. Plenty to think and muster about.

For the Feary and the Dragon thing, where it makes sense, but I have never heard of that. I guess I need to do but more reading. Still, where it makes sense, it doesn't at the same time. I guess I'll have to do some thinking on this as well.

For me Dragon based witchcraft is not Wicca or even a branch or style of Wicca unless the dragons are guradians ans guides within the context of worshiping the Lord and Lady or God and Goddess of Wicca. If a person works with Dragon witchcraft with the Dragons as Gods it becomes a different thing. Its still a form of religious witchcraft but is not Wicca.

The other reason I don't see Dragon based witchcraft as being a Wiccan tradition is the ethical code. Dragon witchcraft has a very different feeling of ethics and guides than Wicca does. Wicca simply has the Rede. Dragon witchcraft traditions and practices actually have a longer code of ethics that is not based in "an harm none". The dragon code is:

Draconic Code of Honour

The Draconic Tradition has Codes of Honor that is followed by all true Dragon Mages. It is followed in magickal workings and in everyday life. There are sometimes when we can't follow the Codes to the exact word, but to completely ignore them would be foolish. Dragons will not work with a practitioner that ignores them. But one, who follows them to the best of their ability, earns the respect of Dragons and will have no problem working with them.

1. In all that you do consider its benefit or harm to yourself, your family, and your Clan.

2. Your duty is always to yourself, your family, and your Clan.

3. Be honest with yourself and others and let them know you will not accept anything but honesty in return. You should always be above reproach or criticism in the eyes of the world.

4. You should always strive to be kind to others, or, should kindness prove impossible, strive always to be just.

5. Give your bond only after great consideration as to how it may affect your duties to yourself, your family, and your Clan. And when you do give your bond it should carry the weight of a signed blood oath.

6. Pledge friendship and your assistance only to those who are worthy and honorable. Work to strengthen those of your family, friends, and your Clan, and they will strengthen you.

7. Do not pass on anything you have not personally witnessed or verified. Never give unproven hearsay the weight of truth.

8. What you have hold. Let no one take from you, your family, or your Clan that which is rightfully and legally yours.

9. The laws of the land should be obeyed whenever possible and within reason for the protection of yourself, your family, and your Clan, for in the main they have been chosen with wisdom.

10. Never reveal the secrets entrusted to you by your family, your Clan, or your friends without permission. Possession of a wagging tongue marks you as a fool. Exceptions to this are when keeping the secret would endanger an innocent, bring unjustified dishonor to another, bring shame or dishonor to your family, your Clan, or friends, allow a criminal to go unpunished, or seriously violate the laws of the land. In this matter let common sense prevail.

11. Never neglect your family, your Clan, or your friends. Have the fierceness of a Dragon in their defense and always be certain they are provided for before starting any endeavor.

12. Offer forgiveness only to those who are truly repentant of wrongs committed against you, your family, your Clan or your friends. And when you offer forgiveness, do so with honesty, for to do so grudgingly is not forgiveness but deceit.

13. Always remember that the fury and excitement of the moment can play havoc with the truth. To keep one's head in any situation is a virtue.

14. Have respect and honor for all Dragons and the Dragons of the Land. For they will assist you in your endeavors if you do.

15. Dignity, a gracious manner and a good humor are to be admired and cultivated. They will aid you to bring honor to your family, and your Clan.

16. Try always to be prepared for whatever the future may bring. Life with all of its joys, sorrows, and secrets is to be embraced and experienced to the fullest, for this is how one gains wisdom.

17. Respect yourself as a child of the Dragons. Have pride, but not arrogance, in yourself, your appearance, and your position in the Clan. Do your best in all things. Be gracious with self-praise, without bragging, and self-forgiveness when warranted.

18. When you gain authority, use it carefully and with wisdom. Remember that authority will grow with experience, and as a Priest/Priestess of a Clan you should exercise it with care and dignity.

19. Power does not come with authority, but can be given. Be wary of how you use any power given to you, for power over something does not always give you the authority to control it.

20. When your time in this life is done, return to the Dragons, and stand before them with pride, not arrogance. For a life lived with dignity, respect, and honor is one to be prideful of.
