I've been getting really bad back pain for a while - the osteopath told me to alternate with hot and cold compresses and I was wondering if there were any herbs that I could include which will either act as a pain killer or help as an anti-inflamotory or something ?
thankyou :)

I have used creams with Arnica. They seem to help. Have you tried massage?

Arnica is good, lavender for soothing the muscles, white willow bark, turmeric, and ginger all work nicely :D

The active ingredients in Tiger Balm are Camphor and Menthol. Camphor is a tree and menthol comes from peppermint. You can probably find camphor oil in an essential oil selection. Tiger Balm is used to sooth sore muscles, and it is similar to Vicks VapoRub (from childhood experience.)

haha, i've found that tiger balm never seems to work (for me & my family, at least). but chamomile or Valerian tea is meant to be a good muscle relaxant (though it also makes you go to sleep O.o )
