St John's Wort

So today I was talking to a elder woman whom I've known for several years now, and I usually tell her things about my life and that recently I have been going through difficult emotions and thoughts, especially at school when I can feel everyone's emotions shooting through me in a split second. She told me that St Johns Wort could be used to elevate emotion and help with depression. I was wondering if anyone else has heard this or if it is true.

Thanks

St. John's Wort is all the rage for those seeking herbal remedies for depression and a host of other disorders. But what if you happen to be a Wiccan or even a practitioner of the dark arts? You may be sitting there asking yourself, what can St. John's Wort do for me? St. John's Wort is AKA; Goat Weed, Tipton Weed, and Klamath Weed. The wort of the good St. John is an herb that has a long history of being used in the arena of the witchcraft and magic. St. John's Wort is used by witches to ensure protection against evil spirits, to ensure health and happiness, and even to provide strength.

blessed be !

True that. I make a St. John's Wort oil that is amazing for burns (:
I think it could possibly be better than aloe.

One piece of advice about St. Johns Wort, if you are taking birth control, don't use the herb, not unless you want to get pregnant. My OBGYN told me to stop using it, while on birth control, it's loses it's effectiveness. Instead I use lavender, or chamomile.

I started taking St John's Wort along with a B complex vitamin and I can definitely feel a big difference. Someone told me that when their mother suffered from clinical depression she went on large doses of B vitamins and saw significant improvement. After trying it I must agree.
Thank you Wiccan Z for the added info about using St John's Wort.

How long did it take to notice? I recently started the B-complex vitamins too, about a week. Don't know if it's working.
