Sonoran Desert

Last 2 weeks of October and first part of November 2009, went to the Southwest for a vacation. The weather was beautiful, the songbirds would sing in the evening.
Cactus grow large, provide nesting holes for birds.
A closer look at bird nests, but of a smaller cactus.
Quite a scenic view...
You really have to see the area, to appreciate the serenity of it.

I got up early each morning to watch the rising sun.
I left this smaller cactus photo, out of the post above...is the one the nest pics were taken.
More sunrise...
Unspoiled beauty...except for corner claim stakes for all the gold mine claims in the area.

Yes, it is my car...but a truck would have been much better for in the desert. It is a Pontiac Grand Prix, too low for so many of the 4WD roads.
