Can I make my own Scrying mirror at home?

Post by Observantcat »

I am thinking of making one at home.

I'm thinking of using Plexiglass, resin, black mica power, or alcohal ink, wire-wrapping a braid of 2 copper, and one in silver. I work with jewelry wire. After curing, I'm planning on sealing it.

I have Essential oils to work with, rose pedels, and I think one or 2 more.

I feel as if I make one myself, with my own things, there will be more love and protection, having built it myself.

Is this a good idea? I read where how they are made, how to use, exc.

Any advice would be awesome.

Be Blessed!!

I think that anything you make on your own is more powerful and charged. It would be attuned to exactly the energies you put into it.

Thank you!

I was thinking the same thing, something made by hand would be better.

Paint the back of a picture frame glass & when dry assemble shiny-side out for a mirror. Clean fingerprints off before painting. Charge it with your vibes. Consecrate if it appeals to you. Relax with deep breathing. Sip some tea you can relax with. Place the mirror comfortably in front of you &' stare at it. Center if you like. Ask a Q. Watch the mirror. Some like to reflect the candle flame in the mirror & gaze. Experiment.

Observantcat, sorry for the waaaaay late reply.

It’s important, I think, when starting out that you don’t get frustrated. I would see shapes/silver mist like. I would get a feeling/thought about what I saw. I did have a time where I didn’t see anything and it was frustrating but I got the feeling that it was more like “not right now”. As if it wasn’t the right time to seek.

I got a picture frame that was non reflective and was wooden. I took out the picture frame glass and used black spray paint on the back of the glass several times. I made sure to clean glass really well. After the spray paint dried, I put the fram back together.

Any mirror tilted so that a blank field is seen becomes a scrying mirror. I have a round mirror I put on a stand outside at night on an angle facing the sky. Also the ancients just put a drop of India ink in a bowl of water.

I used an old oak frame that a clock had been in then got a piece of black stained glass, from a local stained glass store, cut for it. The piece is one of my nicest tools. I embellished the frame with moon crescents I made from clay then fired in the raku kiln...and (from the same raku firing) made a moon disk to cover the mirror when I isn't in use.

It's the round center of the sculptural mirror. A cover representing the moon, with crescents abreast (on either side)
I like to keep it covered when not in use.
