Energy Shields

I use the Rune Shield given to me by the Faery...

I will be literally constructing it , out of copper and
leather by late this year , or spring next year , when
I get a settlement from insurance...

Copper covered with leather , with runes embossed in a ring...

As for astral shield...when I need it , yes...

Different runes , different arrangement for astral shield...

may I make a recommendation for your shield?

Why do you protect yourself? Do you encounter harmful spirits?

just habit really... I started back when I found out I am a psy so as not to snack by accident

The thing is when working with energy and magic you light up on the astral realm, all entities good bad and indifferent see that and want to know what's going on. They come to check you out, if not properly protected they may latch on (sometimes called a "rider")
A charged and programed amulet is good for general protection of the self, and more layers can be incorporated depending on which realms you intend to travel, daily sheilds are good for all the free "radicals" (people alive or dead or other) that we encounter in a day. Physical sheilds can be for longer term protection against certain energies in your home or elsewhere, or for empowerment to the seeker who is doing dark journeying. When stepping into a magic circle cutting protection around yourself or setting up sheilds and wards are important, then one can invite those they wish to work with. Because everyone will come. We have gotten into the habit of leaving some sort of offering on the outside of the circle so those not invited in can keep themselves amused with coins or candy and thereby not be angry they were drawn to the energy but not asked to play.

Add silver to the mix, so for example, braid the copper with silver. The Good Neighbours are really rather fond of it.

I have a miniature hammered silver sword, in a rosewood sheath, the blade set with an aquamarine, I wear when working with my friends...

And yes, you are correct, they do appreciate silver, and copper...

As someone who makes use of shielding constructs (similar to tulpas but lacking sentience) it's simply an unconscious thing at this point. I have always had a talent for it.

I remember reading about a similar concept on a chaos magic forum years ago. People would create astral suits of armor with different properties and assign them a sigil and mantra to summon them with. Sort of an open source astral armory.

Sounds like something I might look into. I never considered makeing astral weapons although I'm used to enchanting.

I shield in one of 2 ways
I either allow divine white/golden light to flood all over me (I do this when in doing the full motion of grounding centering and doing chakra work)
If I'm in a rush I just surround myself with a bright white protective light.
