A Solitary Ritual of Thanks

Post by whisperingMaiden »

You will need:
a large white or pink bowl,
one white candle,
spring water,
fresh flowers (white if possible),
and a piece of white cloth.
This can be performed outside or in, whichever you prefer. Place the bowl on the ritual surface (your altar or the ground). If desired, cast a circle. Affix the white candle to the center of the bowl with warmed beeswax or with wax from another white candle.
Pour water into the bowl. Place the flowers in the water (either take the petals off or pop the heads of the stems and set the stems aside). Light the candle.
Visualize your reason for the ritual, remember why you are giving thanks. Touch the water on both sides of the candle with your fingertips, saying:
Lady of the Moon, of stars and the Earth,
Lord of the Sun, of forest and the hills,
I perform a ritual of thanks
My love shine like the flame
My love floats like the petals
Upon you.
Lady of Waters, of flowers and seas,
Lord of Air, of horns and of fire,
I perform a ritual of thanks.
My love shines like the flames
My love floats like the petals
upon you.
Lady of Caves, of cats and snakes,
Lord of Plains, of falcons and stags,
I perform a ritual of thanks.
My love shines like the flames.
My love floats like the petals
Upon you.
Look into the candle flame, then down into the water. Blow gently upon the water’s surface
and watch the flowers move. Meditate, commune and give thanks to the Lord and the Lady. When it is time to close, remove the flowers from the water. Place them in the center of the white cloth. Wrap them up in the cloth. If you have cast a circle. close it now. End your rite by quenching the flame, pouring the water onto the ground and burying the flowers into the Earth. It is done.

Emotional Peace Spell

Post by whisperingMaiden »

When you are feeling overwhelmed emotionally, this is a good spell to help pick you up. It is particularly effective following emotional upheavals.
You will need:
Clear thought oil.
Clear thought oil
1/4 ounce almond oil
15 drops Siberian fir oil
10 drops cajupet oil
10 drops lemon oil
12 drops lavender oil
Sometime between the waning moon and New Moon anoint yourself with the oil and go outside. Sit where you can see the moonlight- near a pond or stream would be ideal. You should also be in a place where you can scream without causing a fuss. If you have to sit in your car, that’s ok.
Let all the thoughts and worries that have been haunting you bubble to the surface. Let them churn and roll until they feel like they’re drowning you.
Raise your arms to the sky and open your mouth. Begin to let out the sound of worry, the sound of troubles. It can be a scream or a moan or a low groan, but let it out fully pour out of your body.
When it feels like you’ve let go of the stress, anoint yourself again with the oil and go for a short walk, focusing on the stillness of the night around you.

Peaceful Home Spell

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Yemaya, the Santeria orisha of the sea who is the patron of women and family, can help calm the troubled waters of one’s domicile.
To tap into Yemaya’s energy, buy one blue and one white (Yemaya’s colors) candle. Anoint the candles and yourself with Yemaya oil, or lavender or violet oil, or with your favorite cologne. Offer Yemaya a gift of cornbread with honey and a cup of milk in which a pearl has been stirred. Close your eyes, take three deep braths, and visulize the problem and its solution – quarreling kids beginning as long last to play nicely to gather, for example. Then open your eyes, greet Yemaya by saing, “Hekua, Yemaya!” and tell her your troubles and the proposed solution. Thank her for listening, and leave the offering overnight. Burn the candles at least an hour aday until they have burned down. Hide the pearl in the room, where there is the most chaos, and watch peaceful calm beginits reign

Sunset Prayer

Post by whisperingMaiden »

A palette of colors fills the sky
With the beauty of the Gods.
May I ever work to better myself
So that I may better reflect that beauty,
Both inside and out.
So mote it be.

Herbal Medicines & Preparations

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Herbal medicine has been practiced for as long as humans have been around. It was the only form of physical medicine (except for acupuncture), available until the last century. When it was discovered that the active ingredient of an herb or chemical could be isolated, and in may cases reproduced in a lab, medicine went from treating the patient to treating the symptoms. While this has been a good thing if extreme measures were call for, it further separated us from nature and Her gifts. It also upset the balance of nature both externally and within our own bodies. Externally, the focus of the last fifty years has been, “satisfy our wants and needs now and we will figure out how to fix it later. After all, we have science!” The toll of that attitude on our environment and quality of life is easy to see. Internally more and different diseases have been seen in the last century than in any previous time in history. Cancer affects 1/3 or our population. Allergies and sensitivities are now more the norm then not. In focusing on the one goal, we missed the picture. Herbal medicine, combined with good food, free of unbalancing chemicals and a healthy mental state, would put us back in balance with nature, which will have to happen if we are going to survive on this planet for much longer.

Here's one that should be recited facing the Sun at sunrise...

You who are the source of all illumination,
illuminate also my heart...
so it too ,
can do your work!

Banishing Spell: Slander and Gossip

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Items: cauldron – a piece of paper
Time: Night, Waning Moon
Ritual: Light a small fire in a cauldron or whatever you have available to contain the fire. Write on a piece of paper that is 3×3″, the word Rumors and the rumors that are being spread about you. Do not write the names of those who are slandering you! You do not want to harm them and suffer the consequences with karma! Be thinking of these lies going away never to return as you draw an X with a dark marker across the paper. Toss the paper into the fire and repeat the following words 3x

Rumors, slander standing stout,
With this X I cross you out
I toss their words into the fire,
All these lies no longer hire
All bad things done and said,
Leave my life, be gone be dead
All the evil that they say
At this time will go away
Rumors carry me no more,
Be gone be dead be no more
As I speak, so mote it be

Remember to sit and concentrate on all that you’ve experienced in this matter and focus on it all being taken away on the wind then, extinguish the fire.

Salem Witch's Love Potion

Post by whisperingMaiden »

This is a well known love potion, and should be used with a corresponding love spell for several purposes:
So that the best suitable person will enter your life.
To strengthen your current relationship and love.
For attaining love and friendship.
A lot of Salem witches like to sprinkle this potion in their homes and lubricate the front and rear doors of their homes with it in order to strengthen the friendliness of each person who enters.

1 teaspoon of pink or red petals, best to use both. Red petals represent passionate love, while pink represent friendship and a strong bond.
1 teaspoon of lavender, to attract love
1/2 teaspoon of oak leaves, to attain power and male energy
A few sticks of cinnamon, to gain magical power and success in love
Boil all the above ingredients in two cups of water. While the ingredients are heated, say the following:
“With the power of the Goddess and the God, and the rule of Aphrodite and Venus,
I conjure this potion with all the good spirits of love
To attract love, good feelings, romantic moods,
Passionate love between lovers,
A strong bond and a long friendship.”

Fun Fact:A Long time ago, women had to promise not sneak a love potion in their lovers food.

Ginger Tea Potion

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Ginger is an aromatic and warming spice. The purpose of using ginger in this potion is because of its unique strength of drawing sources of money (a quality which is present in cinnamon, which is also part of this recipe).

5 cups of water
1/4 cup of fresh ginger root, cleaned and finely chopped
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
Cook the ginger root for 30 minutes. Filter the water and continue by adding sugar and cinnamon. The tea potion is then ready.

A Ritual Of Gestures

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Stand in the area you have chosen for your ritual. Still your thoughts.
Breathe deeply half a minute or so until composed and calm. Turn your mind to your Deities.
Face North. Lift both hands to waist height, palms down. Press your fingers together creating two solid, flat planes. Sense solidity, foundation, fertility. Invoke the powers of Earth through the gesture.
Moments later turn toward the East. Raise your hands a foot higher, your palms facing away from you (no longer parallel with the ground), and elbows slightly bent. Spread your fingers and hold this position, sensing movement and communication. Invoke the forces of Air through this gesture.
Face South. Life your hands fully above your head. Keeping the elbows straight, grasp your fingers into tight fists. Feel force, power, creation and destruction. Invoke the forces of Fire through this gesture.
Turn to the West. Lower your hands a foot or so. Bend the elbows, turn yourpalms upward and cup them, pressing the thumbs against the forefingers.Sense fluidity, the ocean, liquidity. Invoke the force of Water through the gesture.
Face North again. Throw your head back and raise both hands to the sky, palms up, fingers spread. Drink in the essence of The One, the unknowable, unapproachable ultimate source of all. Sense the mysteries within the Universe.
Lower your projective hand but keep your receptive hand high. Pressing the third, fourth and fifth fingers against the palm, lift the forefinger and thumb to create a rough crescent shape. Sense the reality of the Goddess. Sense her love, her fertility, her compassion. Sense the powers of the Moon
in the gesture; the force of the eternal seas – the presence of the Goddess.
Lower your receptive hand, lift your projective hand. Bend down the middle and fourth fingers toward the palm, and trap them with the thumb. Lift the forefinger and little finger up to the sky, creating a horned image. Sense the reality of the God. Sense the power of the Sun in the gesture; the
untamed energies of the woodlands – the presence of the God.
Lower your projective hand. Lay down flat. Spread your legs and arms until you’ve created the pattern of a pentagram. Sense the powers of the elements running through you; merging and coalescing into your being. Sense them as emanations from the One, the Goddess and God.
Meditate. Commune. Communicate.
When finished, simply stand up. Your ritual is over.

Power of the Sea Meditation

Post by whisperingMaiden »

Clear your mind, have no distractions around you. Close your eyes and breathe deep:
Listen to the gentle waves
Calmness is within you
See how the sunlight glints and plays on the waves
Look far out to sea, as far as the horizon takes you
Feel the breeze, let it inside with a deep breath Feel the soft sand between your toes
Sit in the warm sand
Allow the oceans power inside – breathe deeply and slowly in time with the waves
See the white curl on the crest of the wave
You are breathing with the ocean
Feel its force and its gentleness as one
The waves rhythmic lull fill your senses
You are calmed and rested
The empty void in us,can be filled with a little magic.
