I'm trying to find my Witch name

Post by FoundMyCalling »

I know you don't need a witch name, but I feel it in my spirit that I have a witchy name. I am having a hard time understanding what the name is I can hear it in a dream, but then I wake up the next morning unable to know the name. It's very frustrating and I feel a longing in my soul for my name to be known. Does anyone have any kind of advice? I am willing to listen and hear your opinions.

:flyingwitch: keep a note book by your bed, so that if you wake in the middle of the night you can jot down notes, even if they don't make sense. Also write down whaever you can remember when you rise. Keep at this, it may take some time. Research the words you come up with. Don't despair... it will come.

I've had a few all at different stages in my magical and witchy career. My first name was a fantasy amaglation of my favorite color and an animal I thought was a guide. Then it disappeared and I was a solar name. Now I am at a name that is really myself. Its Loona Wynd. Its based on my love and appeal to the moon and lunar aspects as well as the fact that the element of air and intellect seem to be strong aspects of my personality. Together they are key to who I am spiritually and where my strengths are. They also show areas of weakness as well.

I came up with my magickal name, Cloverfox, a very long time ago using The Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft. You could check that out and try it that way, but also find something you're drawn to, or something that is drawn to you and working with that.

It is funny that you post this because I have been having many close encounters with spiders lately, and am thinking of creating a new arachnid related witchy name :)

I used to work in a gift shop and we had this elderly lady that always came in and I only knew her as "Spider." She always wore a beautiful spider pin and introduced herself as that because it was an old nickname of hers as a child. She was such a sweet lady and have thought about simply using Spider as a magickal name as well, but we shall see.

Heyya, cloverfox, I had a black cat named Spyder, she got her name because she would eat them. Yuck, in any case, she was a great cat.
So ...Nightwater, how did you find your name?
