Why Do Conspiracy Theories Happen

Post by Firebird »

This guy explains it really well, what he calls loss of memory is the perfect description of how Gaslighting works.
For those who have ever been under the thumb of a Narcissist, this is how they erode your way of thinking, making you doubt yourself. Most narcissists know what they are doing when they doing it, it is meant to control you. Cults use this all the time.
They create cognitive dissonance leaving one scrambling to make sense out of the senseless.

Several Psychology Today articles explain why it happens and it isn't because one is uneducated.
1. The need to reduce uncertainty and make sense of the world.
2. The need to feel safe and in control.
3. The need to cultivate a good self-image.

Some psychologists believe that a search for meaning is common in conspiracism. Once cognized, confirmation bias and avoidance of cognitive dissonance may reinforce the belief. In a context where a conspiracy theory has become embedded within a social group, communal reinforcement may also play a part.[107]

Stepping away from a cult mindset is probably like trying to quit smoking or worse maybe heroin . Also when one has been enamored by someone who lied to them but we believed, you now also have to deal with the process of shaking the effects of Stockholm syndrome.

It is interesting that modern psychology formal articles allow to discuss gaslighting.
Such vile thing is only a little step further from admitting that gang stalking is happening
as heritage of Stasi and their Zersetzung
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stasi
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stasi#Zersetzung

I actually had suffered a little local gang stalking from people selling cheap stuff on street after I implored to return the goods and get my money back... so the tactic is nothing new really and could have been going on for centuries.
If you get targeted because of developing magical abilities, life ain't what it used to be. Many groups of different sizes can be involved in this. Seriously the ''small'' gangstalking by street vendors was rather cute compared to the bigger one which is more like Zersetzung - a psychological decomposition agenda.

Thanks, I wish to have some more time to spend here.
The way I'm travelling now I don't even have time to watch the video posted here, unfortunately.

Hope we gather synergy of magical support these days anyway, in thoughts and spirit.
Blessed be.

Cambridge dictionary defines conspiracy
a belief that an event or situation is the result of a secret plan made by powerful people
Frequently the powerful person uses brainwashing techniques and gaslighting methods to get one to buy into the conspiracy.
One might start addressing such with this cult danger evaluation as drawn up by well known pagan Issac Bonewits.
http://www.neopagan.net/ABCDEF.html
Answer truthfully to the questions posed, if you think you may have been drawn into a controversial group this might help to have one come to such a realization.
If you have such a realization, keep in mind you may not be alone in this. Be good to yourself and do not bash yourself. One thing that many go through is a sense of shame for either not realizing such control was happening to them or that one was gullible enough to fall into the trance in the words of another. This is a hurdle that can be very difficult to overcome.... huh, the word cult is in that.... It requires extreme strength and forgiveness of the self.
Shame can manifest in many ways but frequently are formed when under the control of a narcissist. The narcissist themselves are full of unprocessed shame in which they form a front or wall in hopes this will not be discovered. Denial is the main defense for these types.
When people feel shame, the focus of their evaluation is on the self or identity.[4] Shame is a self-punishing acknowledgment of something gone wrong
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shame

Recovering from belief systems requires one to first realize and accept that there is a problem. Much like admitting an addiction.. And for some this will not happen because they themselves suffer from Narcissistic personality disorder, Borderline personality disorder, are a psychopath or sociopath etc...
If you can admit you have found your self in such a conspiracy that is dangerous, you are half way to healing because that is a hurdle in which one must face shame to cross. But it can be done.

When one is concerned about conspiracies it effects the body in the same way trauma and stress does.
Being constantly hyper-vigilant wears out the nervous system. When one thinks there is danger everywhere, they go into survival mode.

The author of this video suggests somatic bodywork to counter some of the hyperlink vigilant response. Somatic info;

New to me, found whilst viewing youtube videos late at night. Mud flood.Watched a few vids see what it is about.
Then someone added a video orphan train children. Which continued into said children being sent to re-populate areas after the mud floods. Anyone any idea about this?

If you medialize your court case you can force judges to be not bribed. But what about psychiatric analysis? It can be done behind closed door under the same bribery – to use this against your arguments based on logic and facts – I consider this agenda, that people can be ridiculed by an analysis behind closed doors – to be an abominable and blatantly visible attack on basic human rights.

Which reminds me of wiki leaks dude
'UK refused to send him to USA for persecution being afraid of his mental health'

I just once visited his site, so I don't know about the quality of the content, but strategy seems to be like this -

yeah, cause in prison he would be a hero... it is easier to ridicule him through psychiatrist's analysis.

Life is random and chaotic. For people who can’t accept that and want predictability, conspiracy theories are there way of making sense of the random and chaotic, as Firebird alluded to.
