Spirit Animal Reading

Post by SilverCrescent »

I've been curious about this for a long time, but don't actually know how to identify them for myself. I would greatly appreciate a reading to help me discern what my spirit animal(s) may be.

I've tried meditation in the past, and I've had a very difficult time in clearing my mind well enough for a real session. I'll continue to try though. Thank you for looking. :3

What animals are you drawn to? Which ones pop into your life out of the blue? Which ones seem to have a real lesson for you?
I had a similar question early on in my practice, then one day I noticed dragonfly was just about everywhere I went. Ever since then it was one of my totems, dragonfly even followed me into a department store dressing room to alert me to my grandmother's passing. Swift messenger that dragonfly, she had just passed no more than 10 minutes earlier. :(

I would suggest going on a quest to find your animal spirit guide. Go to your local open space and make a day of it, take some notes. See what speaks to you, literally or figuratively.
best wishes!

Hm, when I think on it I think a cat would most certainly be one. I've found cats literally everywhere...I'll have to look into that further.

I definitely plan to take your advice and see what I come up with, thank you very much!

Thank you very much, Myrth!
May I ask how you reached the conclusion though?

I have been drawn to both since I was a small child. I prefer their company to that of many humans. We have 4 of each right now including one of each that popped up out of the blue, so to speak.

Dogs teach of love, loyalty, bravery.

Horses teach patience, love, bravery, and physical fitness.

Ah, so they're your spirit animals then?
That's very interesting though, dogs and horses both are wonderful.

You can try this spell along with the meditation guide I used to see if it helps....

Before you go to bed write in a notebook or dream journal this incantation and say it out loud:

"Guardians of the dream world,
I call you to my side.
Reveal my spirit animal,
my protector and guide.
Show me the power, beauty, and grace
In the radiant eyes if my guardian's face."

Also accompanying with meditation of visualizing looking into a reflective surface (or if you have a srcying mirror I don't have one) just try to focus on your totem appearing to you.

For me it took me multiple times with the meditation.

Thank you very much for the advice! I'll give it a shot the next time I look into them. I've recently discovered my current triad though, the dog, seahorse, and spider.
I've been told that they can change, though, so if I feel something has shifted, I'll be sure to try the incantation. I'm not intending to get into scrying, or using mirrors.

Dog, seahorse and spider is an interesting triad. I have cats, foxes and raccoons. And possibly skunks.

My advid teacher told me and my classmates about this technic.

They told us to close our eyes and imagine we were at our favorite location or place that we would really like to be at. Then they asked us to open them again and asked what was the first animal we saw.

According my advid teacher the first animal you see is suppose to be your spirit animal.

I have an owl too, I forgot to mention him. XD I was pretty surprised by my triad, but I've seen the spider and seahorse with my mind's eye, it's the dog I've had trouble coming across...I've seen it once opposed to the multiple other sightings of the others. But I know he's a labrador.
Skunks though? That's very interesting!
