Candle?

Post by Zed »

Hi I am new around here.
I just started practicing simple spell.

For normal candle spell?
What kind of candle is being use?
What size? Taper? Tealight?
If the ceremony/ritual require to do repeat several days.
(the instruction is burn it for 30 mins
which only around 1/8 candle taper is being used.)
Do I use the same candle?
or I have to get another one?
If so, how do I handle the "leftover/remainder"? Dump it? Bury it? :?:

It didn't told me to snuff it out? So I blow the candle.
I saw in another post someone said it will ruin the spell.
Does it matter?
or all candle spell should be snuff it out at all time if it didn't ask to burn all the way?

Perhaps you should put off practicing any spells and things until you learn more about the spell. I'm new to this myself so don't take my word for all commanding law or something, but it just seems to me that if you are really lost about a spell i wouldn't start practicing quite yet.

Malvok: "So go on an adventure!"

Bob: "What adventure?"

Malvok: "Make your own own adventure then."

Bob: "Make my own? You can't just make up an adventure!"

Malvok: "Sure you can!"

Malvok: "THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!!!!!!!!!!"

Welcome and Merry Meet, Zed!

Here's my answers to your questions one at a time:
1) Beeswax is the best, but that's expensive. Any material will be fine.
2) You can use a basic taper for most candle spells. You should cleanse it before use, though, to remove residue energies.
3) If you repeat something for several days with a candle spell use the same candle (relight it) unless specified otherwise.
4) There's a few ideas on how to dispose of the remains. Burying it would work, or save all your candle stubs to remelt into utility candles (not for spellwork). It's generally not a good idea, imo, to just dump it because it's like you're not caring where the magic goes, either.
5) You should pinch or snuff a candle after the spell, rather than blow it out. However, the fact that you blew out the last one shouldn't wreck it unless you allow it to. Don't lose confidence in your intent because you think you made a mistake, it's a learning experience :)

I said cleanse, not clean, but they could be thought of as the same. :) You're trying to get rid of cluttered or negative energies, not just dust.

I agree pretty closely with some of the advice on this page, specifically about cleansing and concecrating (I do the prep/incense stuff differently):

You can use it to get started and give you some ideas.
