Harvest times: only during WANING MOON?

Post by freyja13 »

Hello my fellow Wiccans,

I have read in various sources that its best to harvest your herbs during the Waning moon ONLY.

What do you think about this theory?

Agree or disagree?

Also, I have read herbs shouldnt be harvested during the Moon's Void of Course.

What do you think?

I think it depends on what you are using the herb for. For seeking and expansion I would pick on the waxing moon, if I wish to remove something or banish then I would pick on the waning moon.
Additionally if you wish to expand on that use the planetary hours of the day or week to refine that harvest. Like for intuition pick herbs the waning moon on Monday at the 1st or 8th hour of that day. To remove a bad habit pick on the waning moon on Saturday, at the 1st , 3rd, 8th, or 10th hour.
The variations and possibilities are many.
Here is a reference to the planetary hours

Hope that helps,

Thanks again. You have some great advice. I just collected my mint last night during the day of Mercury and Hour of Sun, mistakenly I wanted all Mercury, but maybe its for the best. Definitely will post a picture when i make them into burning sticks.
