My tree is dying, Help!

Post by LoneWhiteWolf »

For the past few weeks my little Acer hasn't grown very much, now its leaves are drying and drooping and I don't know what to do. It's been watered, let out into the garden for the sun and then brought back inside at night because of the cold.

I honestly don't know what to do, it was doing so well :( I really suck at keeping things alive. :anxious:

Feel the soil it's in with your fingers, is it moist? If it's really dry, add water; if it's wet, it may be over-watered.

When was the last time you changed the soil (or simply added new soil)? Does it need new nutrients yet?

Sometimes plants just go through a wilted phase, often it has to do with the weather (if it's been very cloudy recently, or stormy). My vine plant wilted for some unknown reason awhile back and for the life of me we couldn't figure it out, so I called in an "expert" and we figured out that it had too many vines to support itself properly so after a bit of pruning it perked right back up again.

Vesca has a point, too much water will kill plants faster than anything.
Does this kind of maple grow naturally where you live?
If so it doesn't need to be brought inside, and that may be too much shock for it to go in and out.
maple loose their leaves anyway, but that should have been back in October or so.
I wish you luck, but don't be so hard on yourself if it doesn't make it.

LoneWhiteWolf,
I'm not sure how the weather is over there but when it started getting
cold I brought my mint inside to get warm.
I started loosing leaves like crazy...
Found out it was due to the ceiling fan !
I gather this tree is inside ? Is there a fan blowing on it, even lightly ?
If it's warm enough try leaving it outside if it's not too cold at night ?
Have you hugged your tree today ?

My tree had been kept in all winter and sprouted in the spring, it wasnt too cold for him.
I let him out a few times but always brought him in before he got cold. Then the leaves started crispening so i kept him inside, didnt over or under water him..
A weird fungus started forming in the soil, thats all i noticed. I managed to get it off the soil but it was too late.
He died, even his bark faded in colour.. He was so young ;_;

i will try again with an older plant.. Its made me very sad to loose him. But i must try and stay focused on my lavender now.
Thanks guys, but i was too late <3
