what is this plant?

Post by ladybloodie »

I moved into these house a 2 yrs ago. And the lovely lady that lived here had alot of plants growing and every summer I've found something new. But these one I can't ever figure out what is as the animals keep eating them down. it grows next to a raspberry patch. behind some pine trees.

You know, that looks a lot like parsley, to me anyways. It could be some that she planted at some point. Does it have a particular scent or texture?

ash is a tree and will grow huge. Pasley is a plant and will flower soon and die. The picture is very faded and I got confused. Pasley is tasty and has good smell. Don't taste ash

looking closely, it has nothing to do with pasley, i'm sure. Pick some and smell it, if it has a strange smell (a bit smelly) , it's an ash. It looks really like ash

This does not look like ash to me, but the pic is fuzzy. Can we get a better picture, the leaf under a light perhaps? This way we can give you the best answer we can.

I guarantee that is not an ash.
You all are possibly on the right track with parsley, but is not that either.
Tell us when it flowers, we can tell more then.
There are over 400 species of plants related to parsley and I have a feeling it is one of those, like maybe hemlock. What does it smell like? Hemlock havs a very putrid fragrance. And as you may know is very deadly.
Another photo perhaps?

oops sorry it's not an ash. I was confused by its English name as English is not my native language. But I'm sure it's not pasley, it's a tree as I have just planted this tree few days ago

a bead tree. You can pick its leaf and chew it, it has an awful taste and has nothing to do with pasley

I'm sorry, Deku, but I just don't see the resemblance between the two photos. The leaves don't look the same, to me at least. It might be a bead tree, it might be parsley, or it might even be a ninja in disguise, lol. Either way, I'm sure ladybloodie is taking all suggestions into consideration.

Of course you can't see the similarity because small bead (neem, chinaberry or something I don't know how to call) is very different from the old one. Tomorrow I'll take a photo of mine but it's grown up a bit so it looks different than this. But it's certainly not pasley
