Litha in Quarantine

Post by tea_and_pigeons »

So... with quarantine still happening it'll be hard to do some of the more fun Litha traditions (going swimming, bonfires, etc.) What does everyone have planned?

Well, I’m guessing solstice sunrise at Stonehenge might be out of the question for the first time In history 😢 unless public facilities reopen in time. My area zoo and picnic parks are reopening this week. Regardless, Ive made a point of watching solstice sunrise from home for years. The earth’s tilt has moved the sunrise a few rooftops north over the years. I use neighbor’s rooftops as an artificial horizon. This probably wasn’t what you had in mind 😊 but I’m geeky that way. It’s a long drive to a beach. 10-person or less gathering around a backyard BBQ is OK here so if I wanted to I ’d break out the marshmallows. I’ll never be too old for swinging on the swings at the school or park playground.
