You've got any article, even in German, on Erstmilch? I did not find anything.

Others, what you think of weather prediction, I forgot which book it was so I looked up the net https://www.learnreligions.com/weather- ... re-2562497

Seems that clear sky on Imbolc, at least in those Scottish parts foretold the winter to endure, while morning haze would have foretold the nearing end of winter?
Sky this morn here was clear I heard so that would suggest rest of winter to still be cold...

as I understand it, this is a the colostrum that comes into the mammary glands even before the flow of regular milk, so it really is the first milk!

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, it is commonly what colostrum is called but in my granny's tradition it was the time when the sheep and goats had offspring. She told me that it used to be called Lichtwache (light watch) but that with when people bred sheep and goats to have lambs and kids earlier in the year, the focus changed from returning of light to fertility.

Unfortunately, she dies way too early in my life so a lot of the knowledge of how things used to be were lost.

Sorry, Lightwatch was connected with guarding of cattle or was it some entirely other thing?

I'm getting a grasp on mammary thing and Imbolc time of seeds catching whispers of life... ideas of this time, if not disrupted might nicely flourish when the spring comes.. looks like this kind of concept to me, observing nature.

I was always amazed when my chickens would start laying eggs again at this time of year. I found out it had to do with the amount of light entering into the pupil of the chickens eyes. They too knew it was time to getting fertile ball rolling again!

I wonder if commercial chicken and egg farms use artificial light year round to force productivity? It’s like body fat ... my body grudgingly retains body fat in winter - no diet has an effect Dec thru Feb - and my body readjusts (any day now) :) in late Feb . It has more to do with temperature I guess. I might try those lights used for plants - hmm.

Yes,you would go around and bless animals, especially livestock, and plants for the coming year. Of course, with more and more people not raising animals it has become kind of obsolete.

Daniel Negreanu was poker pro who claimed decade ago to go vegetarian and then full-vegan stating "because animal industry is way beyond cruel" and we're talking poker pro here not justice warriors... go figure.
In France they castrate cocks so that they grow slightly bigger to sell more meat from one cock.

I love meat but getting a stomach pain from it is a 50% chance actually.

Body's bit stupid since it stores fat around belly to store excess energy the most economical way - near digestive tract itself... but man loses agility this way so it's both pro- and counter-survival. Lol.

UV lamps irritate eyes and skin as heck I just leave it with plants beneath closed doors.

We had our coven Sabbat on Saturday the 1st, and since I had two guests from outside the country, I took them to Brighid's holy well in Kildare. We were invited to see her perpetual flame at the Solas Bhríde centre. I've never visited there before, in myths ill fates fell upon men that got too close to the flame, but since one of the Brigidine sisters offered to take us in to see it, couldn't refuse that invitation!
