Samhain invocation

Post by reikihealer83 »

Here is a simple invocation to use to welcome friendly spirits and ancestors into your Samhain circle. Enjoy!

The veil is thin so come and play.
We bid you on this hallowed day.
Dance with us around the fire great
and bring with you a Samhain Cake

Love it! :D I'm so excited for Samhain!
Okay so this is probably a ridiculous question, but how do you pronounce Samhain? I think I know, but... Just checking because I don't wanna be a dummy and say it wrong! :P hehe
Breathing in I feel gratitude; Breathing out I give thanks.
Breathing in I feel joyful; Breathing out I celebrate.
Breathing in I know compassion; Breathing I am compassion.
Breathing in I feel loved; Breathing out I offer love.
Breathing in I am still; Breathing out I am at peace.
Om.

Not a dumb question at all. It is pronounced "Sow (like sour) wain". Many people mispronounce it but it is normal.

Can it be pronounced SAW-Ven?
My great grandmother pronounced it that way when I was younger.
I heard it depends on country of origin.

I personally pronounce it SAW- WHEN.

So the owner of the Green Man store, so I'm not alone in the mispronunciation. :D

I think it depends on how you want to pronounce it :)
