The Bubbling Cauldron revisited

Post by NeverMoonAWerewolf »

This was the old thread
"The Bubbling Cauldron"
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=30006

It is something amazing to do together, and thus this is the attempt at resurrection. For each spell, when it is done, we could enter it in a community Book of Shadows, posted under the BoS forum, so that it would be easier to find in the future.

For ingredients for spells and rituals, it would be good to have 1 or 2 substitutes, because not everything is readily accessible,or affordable, to everyone.

As before, I'd like this to be done monthly, with suggestions for what we could work on collected here. I'd like to attempt 2 sets of magic each month, a spell or ritual crafted together like in the original thread and something very free flowing where each of us posts one or two easy to get, inexpensive ingredients fitting for the topic and at the end of the month everyone picks a few of those things, max of 5, to create a simple spell out of it (this was how my granny taught kitchen witch work). Because improvising is an essential art in magic!

Please come join us!

And because the month is almost over already, it is only the kitchen witch spell which makes sense right now. So here's a topic:

Redirection of negative energy.

My ingredient - Basil, fresh or tried.

So as the time was short and not too much traffic comes through here right now, we'll extend the kitchen witch spell through August.

For the main August spellcraft excercise we'll craft a spell for communication and constructive information flow.

To be completed: August 21st.

The aim of this spell is to facilitate communication offline and online, specifically, on our forum. At the same time we want to keep away fake news, hate speech, gossip, bragging and everything else which hinders and corrupts understanding. We all know how tiring relations with people can be who sprout nonsense or only talk about themselves or what they dislike. This is draining and damaging no matter where it happens.

So what goes into it?

Timing?
Correspondences?
Materials?
Deities?
Prayers/Incantations?
Anything else?

Let's get going, we are a community, after all, however small.

Hi!
I made this a sticky, hopefully that will help.

So, timing...how about Saturday for ending negativity or maybe a Thursday...wait, weren't we redirecting negative energy? Lemme re-read this, Communication and constructive communication flow.
How about Friday night just up to midnight for the communication flow (like feeling the love of Friday?) smileylove
Then when midnight rolls over to Saturday, (that day of endings) Open a door that the negativity rolls right out of... gone and away?. blue_flee
just a couple timing thoughts

Could the direction please be defined?, are we to redirect negative energy, or create communication and constructive information? or both?
I would like to start on an incantation. I'll work with the latter for now.

Communication sure and true
wise words exchanged
in all we do...
May the forum abound
with wit all around!
with those who would nay
keeping far far away

Eh? not loving it just yet, but there's me attempt. Then I was thinking maybe Wednesday would be better being mercurial and better for communication.

Thankfully that's not until Sept. 27 this year, any other days or hours that would work well?

For communication over the net which uses writing.

I would begin with choosing a crystal to make an elixir with any of the following for communicating by speaking and writing:
aqua aura, blue lace agate, blue topaz, chalcanthite, indicolite, tanzanite OR turquoise.

Mookaite helps to improve communication skills. I'm not sure that's needed for writing in a forum.

Blue quartz, helps you express what's in your mind.

Barite helps with explaining ideas.

Out of the above list, I'd pick blue lace agate because I have it. Some of those crystals seem a bit too hard to find or maybe too expensive.

For the elixir, I'd use an indirect method and let the blue lace agate steep for 36 hours. Steeping it longer won't hurt. I would time it to be ready for a Wednesday.

On Wednesday, I'd remove the crystal and dab the elixir on the edges of my laptop with the screen up. While I dab around the screen and the keyboard, I'd chant Firebirdflys' incantation three times.

Oh, a quick add on. For those of you who know herbs, you can steep a herb until the cup is cool to the touch. Mix it in equal portions (1:1) with the crystal elixir. I'm not too terribly familiar with herbs so I'll leave that part for another witch.
