Spell for tackling boring tasks
Hi, I'd like to create a spell to help with finding the motivation to persevere with boring mundane tasks. I have a very creative, intuitive and curious type of personality and I find dealing with unimaginative, detailed and repetitive tasks (like office paperwork, dishes, chores, bookkeeping etc) really trying.
Would love some tips on what I might include in my spell or hear if anyone has a spell for themselves for this.
PS: have tried to usual self help advice like rewards etc. They don't really help.

I like to listen to good music during the work day. It speeds things up quite a bit

@7sons: Get your act together.
Re: Spell for tackling boring tasks
I sometimes include mundane tasks into my daily meditation. For example, I hate vacuuming, mopping and I just let my mind wander during those tasks. Nothing special, I just count from 10 to 1 and let the thoughts in. My hands are busy, but my mind is somewhere and I have even received messages and answers during that.

I chant mantra or enn or attempt to imbue the act with a sacred intention. So for example if I'm stuck prepping food, I chant healing mantras to make sure the food will help someone. Or if I'm exercising, I'll use my chants to regulate my breath and speed recovery. I find that when you focus on spiritualizing anything, you can't be bored!

Thanks vassal. Imbueing sacred intention sounds like a good start. I'll give that a go.vassal wrote:I chant mantra or enn or attempt to imbue the act with a sacred intention. I'm happy to help

I like this. It allows focus and mindfulness and is more productive than cussing under my breath.SpiritTalker wrote:"I have the grit to see it through, in any task I have to do.". Repeat as needed.

And even as much as I like cussing I find it produces negative energy and that won't help get the job done! LoL!T'a Nuk wrote:I like this. .... yes! I like this too. ANYTHING to get the job done positive affirmation will build energy whereas negative cussing will shread it.

It is also more respectful and less offensive than making filthy lyrics to popular songs. A little mantra like this can become a chant while I am doing something rhythmic like sanding or carving. Time warps and soon I am on to more interesting things with no fatigue and an enhanced level of creative inspiration.

Just make a game out if it - worked for mary poppins.
When my son was an infant we used to play a game called pairing socks - every time one of us reunited a pair in his sock draw you held them up and paired them ... every pair found the other person would shout out - YOU WIN!
Silly I know - being silly was kinda the point.

I love it!
My dad played a similar game with us. When he was cleaning his wood shop, we would help him. He would give us each a grocery bag and say,"Ready...GO!", and we would scurry about picking up the bits of wood and trash from the shop floor like we were on fire!

Scott Cunningham's book Magickal Household
has lots of interesting little chants and sayings
to make the chores go quicker.
He's a popular author and you should be able
to borrow it from your library system. I'm
not sure where you are, but I hope this might
help.
