Does Anyone Have Any Cleansing Spells for a Household?

I know I've asked for cleansing spells before, but the only thing missing from my book of shadows is one for an entire household. Like I said, I keep these for future reference, but I do believe that my household could use this, so I'll spend a few weeks thinking if I should use it or not.

It would be preferable if someone had one without many tools, in case I do decide to use it in a magickal space. Perhaps there will be somewhere I can go outside to practice magick so I'm not doing it in my mother's home.

Don't know where I found this one (it's quite common on the internet), but this has been sitting in my Book of Shadows (haven't used it yet myself but I rather like the incantation ... ). I don't recall any actions other than the incantation itself, but I'm sure you could use a smudge stick or something to accompany it.

Bless the book on the mantle shelf,
Bless the pillow for the tired head,
Bless the hearth and the light shed.

Sharing this from one of my favorite household magical books by Scott Cunningham & David Harrington (The magical household)

Elemental Purification - Need a bowl or flat dish of salt
Incense burner (censer)
Frankincense (or other sweet fumed incense)
A White Candle
A bowl of clean, pure water

Light the incense & candle, Stand before a table and open yourself to your home, feeling its energies. Hold your hands over the tools and say:

I charge you,tools of the elements,
To sweep my house clean of all ill and bane.
This is my will, so mote it be!

Take the salt dish and move clockwise around the house, throw a pinch into each corner of every room saying:

By the powers of Earth, I cleanse this house!

Visualize the salt burning away negtivity as you throw it. You can also throw salt into cupboards, closets, open windoes etc. Next pick up the censer. While the incense smokes, carry it on the same route you did as the salt. Letting the smoke flow in the corners, around windows, visualize the smoke clearing away all negativity and evil and say:

By the powers of Air, I cleanse this house!

Repeat this with the candle same route and say:

By the powers of Fire, I cleanse this house!

Same with the water and state:

By the powers of Water, I cleanse this house!

Once this is done stand for a few minutes in the house. It should feel calmer, more peaceful and clean, if not repeat the ritual. Close the doors and windows and if able leave the tools on the table till the candle burns itself out and the incense us reduced to ash.

Note: you can change the words of course just quoting it from the book. Hope this helps! Blessed Be!

A folk-method for home cleansing is to use a broom to roll a yellow onion throughout the house, circling each room & exiting the house by the most-used door. Put the onion out in the trash - do not return it to the house. The onion absorbs undesired energies.

I'm trying to visualize successfully rolling an onion around the house without it being stolen by the cats.

Yes. That "Little Black Sambo." I had that book when I was very young.

I had 2 favorite kids books "A Teeny Tiny Tale" and "Little Black Sambo." Whenever anything went bump in the night I'd image it chasing it's own tail (metaphorically) & becoming tiger butter. I loved that story! And TTT is still my favorite bump-in-the-night.
