stichomancy
Just wondering if anyone else uses stichomancy? I don't hear about people doing it very much. It's a 'random' reading from a 'random' book that answers a question or offers insight. It's my favorite divination tool.... blows me away!

Re: stichomancy
I did it once in a group, but we only chose out of one book. It seemed okay, but I'm sure it would have worked better if it was a book of my own choosing. How do you choose which books you use? Do you start from your own personal collection or from a library, for instance?

Depends what's available. I have even had luck doing random readings online (like random generator) if I feel pulled to do it at the time. I do less 'willful' ? reading and more 'directed'.... if that makes sense. I find that when it is less my agenda and more .... like a pull to do it then I seem to have better luck. I don't know, that's just me. Wish I could 'will' it more but I suppose there's probably a reason why it is how it is for me.

I wonder if divining randomly selected lines on websites, or even on billboards and street signs, could also be put in this category, as more "contemporary" forms of stichomancy. Maybe there's already a -mancy for these, though.
