What's the best material for a pendulum?

any quartz based stone and the metal should probably be silver.

I also use my regular gold chain and a gold or silver ring (of the person I am doing it for) if I don't have a pendulum available, if I am doing it for someone else. It works very well. It is a very old way of doing pendulum work in my country. This is how I first started on this path. Hope this information helps.

I have a crystal on a chain, seem to work quite well, you need not spend al lot of money for what you want k, anything will do , even a string with a washer tied on to the end will suffice, hope this will help you.
