What crystal(s) have you been drawn to?

Post by Tyrande »

Good afternoon all! smileylove
What crystal(s) have you been drawn to?
I myself have been obsessed with Amethyst for a year now. Points, tumbles, necklaces, clusters.. I always find myself holding that beautiful purple stone in shops no matter how many I've purchased!
Has anyone else been really attached to a certain crystal for a while now? I'd love to hear what it is!

Aaah, amethyst has pretty much been my stone since I was very young. In middle school at some point, my class went panning at a quarry and I panned a lovely, semitransparent amethyst shard from the water. I've acquired a load of the gems between then and now, but I can always pick that first one out of the pile of shards it sits in.

In more recent years, I've grown an affinity for kyanite, and as of the past month, I've felt a pull to acquire selenite. Neither of these leanings have been as strong as that first stone to catch my attention, though. Turns out that amethyst is a fine stone to attune towards necromantic practices, which is a branch of craft that I have a strong interest in...aces~
The map is not the territory, the facet is not the jewel.

Labradorite for inner workings and shungite for health. Selenite for peaceful clearing, and red Jasper for grounding. Garnet and moldavite for energy oomph. Smokey, rutilated quartz for balance. Clear quartz for getting the job done and overall well being.

I've always felt a attachment to petrified wood. I used to have a piece when I was a child (that I unfortunately no longer have) and since I re-acquired another small piece it has been my go-to crystal for grounding.

This past year though, since I had gotten back into crystals, I have been drawn to a lot of crystals for increased intuitive and psychic abilities. Including some rather hard to find and more expensive ones!

My favorites are moldavite and azurite. I love the feel and colors and they help me stay focused with meditation and energy work. The moldavite was a little intense at first, felt very warm and made me sweat, but now I wear a wrapped stone on a necklace and feel lost if I'm not wearing it. I usually carry a clear quartz point, azurite and my moldavite necklace. But there are tons more that are very close seconds!!

The ones I've been drawn to are the ones with inclusions- rutile or tourmaline in quartz, phantoms, etc...

Oh, how I love Opal. They are so hard to come by in shops, & when you find one it's usually very out of price range (for me at least! :D). I've seen a lot of them online, but prefer to find mine in person. I prefer to feel it's energy before claiming it, I think a lot of folks feel that way.

I have this chunk of quartz with tourmaline included. It has become a big part of my recent journey. It's not perfect, but there are tons of rainbows and chunks of green tourmaline in it.
I place it on my forehead and cheeks it feels so cool and energizing.
Here a pic which does it no justice at all!

What a beautiful chunky crystal, I love it. I love the coolness of crystals, it's so calming. Even the one I wear on my necklace stays cool. It's so soothing. smileylove

Thanks! I found a hole ...more like a negative space, on that crystal where it's growing in two directions that was just big enough to tread a needle through, so I'm going to try to hang in in my pyrimid structure so one can sit underneath it.
@ed, you woud get a kick out of this rock...
so Tyrande, do you use your amethyst for anything special?
Everyone has very interesting stones :flyingwitch:

Use of Amethyst

Amethyst has done a lot for me regarding my recovery through Anorexia Nervosa BP. I started recovery this year in January, after 3 years of suffering from it. Right away I bought an Amethyst necklace & every piece of Amethyst I saw that I felt a good connection with (I knew of the healing properties regarding addictions).
I apologize if that is TMI in any form.
Regardless, it has helped me heal and stay on track. Amethyst's vibrations have really helped me break the habit and cycle of destruction, and I now know why it is good to use in controlling/stopping addiction (always was a skeptic about crystal's healing properties before that).
While that isn't something in specific to do with working with the crystal, Amethyst will always remain dear to my heart because of how much it helped me and the connection I have with the stone.

**Disclaimer: It did not "cure me", it simply guided me and allowed me to harness the energy to break the habit. I still made medical efforts and mental health efforts.**
Blessed be
Tyrande

Not at all, thank you for sharing. This is how we find what works, and if it works for you it may work for someone else as well.
Many pagan festivals offer an amethyst circle for those in recovery of all kinds. A strong display of the power in this stone. Which works with the 3rd eye chakra and the brain. Stands to reason it is helpful in these recovery/enlightenment medicines! Not to mention it is soooooo beautiful!
That chunk is amazing :fairy:

Lately, I've been particularly drawn to some rather beautiful apophyllite with stilbite clusters... I think I'm going to have to find some spare cash in the budget now lol
