What kind of stone is my pendulum?

Post by Lupvhee »

Hello,
I need your help

I bought a pendulum a few months ago and I wonder what is the stone of it...

Maybe can you guess the stone?

Thank you ♥

To me it looks like either milky quartz or selenite. But it's kind of hard to tell just by looking at the pic.

Perhaps someone else can chime in?

Hmmmn, I can't tell from the picture and on the background it is. Ed is one of our resident rock hounds. Hope he happens by....maybe if we edit the title of your post to be "what kind of stone is my pendulum?" Or something of the like.....that might get more interest and response.

The photo is a bit blurry, I don't think it's selenite....perhaps a jasper, agate or a quartz-as you say EMR.

I'm still half asleep and you are right- It's too cloudy to be selenite. I'm leaning towards some kind of quartz also

Selenite would be too soft to hold that kind of fitting for any length of time and it would be unusual to use it as a pendulum, usually a Quartz is a better idea. :) Very pretty

It's very pretty! I could be wrong, but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was Moonstone.

were thought to be insane

From what I can see in the first photo, there's a banding on the stone that eliminates quartz since that has more of a smoky quality. In my opinion, I would say that's a white agate pendulum. Agate is known to have lines or banding along the stone whereas quartz has more of a smoky quality and more uniform in its colouring. I find your second photo to be a bit hard to tell of what your stone looks like because of the artificial lighting giving it an orange tinge yet I can tell it has lines.

I would have to vote for milky quartz. The presence of banding does not rule out quartz, chevron amethyst and phantoms are good examples of this. The patterning in the first photo is more in line where crystals have grown together in a larger mass. This is fairly common in large milky quartz clusters.
