Tapatalk Settings (Default settings aren't good)

Post by Starwitch »

You may have noticed while using the Tapatalk app that they always want to show you "Trending Topics". Problem is, most of those topics are old, and it's always better to post on newer threads rather than bringing old threads back up to the top (pushing newer ones down).

I found a place in Settings (bottom right of screen) where you can change the default screen. Once you're in "Settings", select "Tab Behavior" and then select "Forums". This will change the default display screen to the whole forum.

In addition, you can also click the three horizontal lines at the top left of the screen and there are different options you can choose from there. You can read unread posts, get notifications, check threads you've participated in, etc.

Hope that helps!

Hi folks!
I have noticed a whole bunch of members, some real new, some have been here for many many weeks who may not have read this thread.
Please check your settings and remove the advertisement that says what sort of device you are posting from.
If Starwitch can provide this forum free from advertisement, the least we all can do is remove the advertisement our devices have conveniently and very purposely placed near ones signature.
Thanks everyone,
Firebird

Hey there! So if you go to your Tapatalk profile and click on "settings" then "signature", you can either turn off the signature all together or edit it to something else. When using Tapatalk the signature is automatically "sent from ________ using Tapatalk". I just turned mine off!

Ps - I totally hate advertisements! Lol :P

It's not a big deal, just not really nice seeing ads in every post one's made.

As Starwitch has kept the forum ad - free, we would like it to remain that way and this is why we recommend people turn off the Tapatalk signature, that's all.

READ THIS FROM THE BOTTOM UP.

I took this from live chat, seems MystieGraves had trouble but then figured it out :fairy:

Took a bit of searching to get the old version of the app, if the latest version doesn't work for you I can link you to my Google drive for the old one I found lol

I played with all the settings, found out how to change my signature too. It seemed like a neat app, but if they have changes that big messing up users on specific forums it might not be be worth the hassle.

well I tried, but tapatalk would not let me login to the forum. I emailed them to be due I didn't do anything wrong. they said due to an update to their app the plug-in on the forum wad outdated and wouldn't let a new tapatalk user login to the forum without updating the forums plug-in. I guess it won't work, I have no control over the forums plugins lol

Has anyone used tapatalk? I'm viewing the site on my phone & this app info popup came up. Reviews on the Google play store say it pops up with SPAM ads ask the time. Thinking about downloading it but not sure.

If anyone needs the .apk (I only have the app for Android, not for ios. Sorry.) of the older 6.0.11 that I have saved. I don't mind sharing.

Since it is a free app, & any paid stuff thru the app is by subscribing to their pro account & not anything to do with the app itself, just the users account; I don't think it would be a problem. It's still their actual app, just a previous version.

Please let me know if it is okay & I'll post the link here.

For some time, there was a signature below each of my posts and I had to manually edit and delete the signature from each one of them. I'm glad I've finally found a way to disable the signature.

Another thing with tapatalk is, only others who have tapatalk can see your emogees, t looks like blank boxes to the rest of us.
And someone was recently complaining they had reached their photo upload maximum capacity which I didn't even know there was one.
You are also getting the simplified version of everything, I imagine there is functions or text that is not visible to you either.
