Yes.
It is never a good idea to practice magic if you're unwell or feeling down, depressed etc etc.
Magic demands a healthy, sound mind and body.

i dont think she cast to feel better but while she was sick. so she hasnt left her self with sufficient energy to heal.

The OP is using 3-D realm logic and not magical-realm thinking but for similar effect.
What we send out through the ethers returns to us, so if we send out sickly thought-forms we’ll see it manifest in our life-stream at a later time. GIGO - garbage in, garbage out - when we feel like crap we can’t concentrate effectively.

We aren’t meant to use our physical energy for magic and doing so might tire the body, so it appears as if 3D thinking proves itself to you, but it’s Yourself & not magic causing it. Before casting we Ground & Center - pull power from sky & earth to the gut. - to link to the Source. Use this as an image of drawing power to center. The serpent-rune is the image of above-&-below vertical line connecting to the horizontal four directions of earth.

Magic makes energy, then our thought codes that energy on the etheric plane. When effectively done the magical practice leaves us feeling slightly vitalized but relaxed. When we ground and center we connect to the Earth to channel earth-energy through our bodies that then stimulates the pineal gland (3rd eye).

We ground so we can go on to develop conduits of energy, which we can tap into and use without using our own natural reserves and getting sick.

We also ground after doing 'work' so we don't suffer the consequences of hoarding too much energy (which can manifest in uncontrolled ways) or stagnating.

This is part of energy work, the conscious use of energy as opposed to the unconscious use of energy.
