Manticore

What does a manticore symbolize?

My interpretation after looking up Wikipedia’s description of this medieval fantasy beast -
Head of a man - thinks, plans, plots & schemes
Body of a lion - fighting strength
Tail of a scorpion - retribution and deadly sting
When it’s on a heraldic banner or shield it’s saying the barer is a formidable adversary, a man-eater.

The reason I ask is cus the other night I had an out of the norm dream where I was floating around a broken castle out the top of a mountain and if I looked down there were clouds and on part of the castle it looked like there was a manticore i just kind of avoided it most of the dream and explored a little

Doesn’t it seem reasonable to you that he’s there to guard the castle?

I don't think so in my dream I just kind of walked into the castle but the weather seemed to get darker and maybe more storm like when I got close to the manticore though now that you mention it the manticore was sitting on some kind of entrance so it might've been guarding whatever was in there
