Poetic aspect of witchcraft

Post by virginialuther12 »

Now that it may appear strange to believe witchcraft as have a lyrical side to it but it does. For example, there have been plentiful blogs, essay writers, articles, and even complete books write about spell but next lots of reader become frustrated in finding that no issue how several times they narrate but those spells they have to get no results. And that seems to be because a spell must be recited with the highest of attention, not just reading words. Let me presume that readers are familiar with a conventional witchcraft circle and, while there are no tough and fast rules about it, there being all sorts of treading variations, a path around the circle is a rather ordinary practice, though that is optional. Yet I find that treading that path can often get me to the wanted attention. In the procedure of doing so, furthermore, I can merge my belief jointly to the point where I can efficiently make my spell like a poetry. That is works for me and so let me recommend that technique to you.

Two As One , As Trinity ,
A Cojoining Of Their Energy ;

Raise The Chalice !
Hold High The Blade !
Let The Union , Now Be Made ,
Let The Spirits , Who Are Here ,
Bind Ye This Day ,
And More , A Year ,
Bind Ye As One ,
Beyond Of Two ,
Learn From Each Other ,
As Lovers Do ,
Love Each Other ,
For Sacred Ye Be ,
Yer Union Is The Great Mystery ,
Ever Unfolding ,
In It's Own Way ,
Ye Are Here Bound , For A Year And a Day !

And , written for a ceremony dedicated to Pan :

Pan , Pan , Io Pan ,

Pan That Thou Art , Pan That I Am ,

Pan As Both Wild And Free , Pan In You , And Pan In Me ,

Pan In Dance , And Pan In Song ,

Pan As I , Now Come Along...

Pan As Moon , And Pan As Fire ,

Pan Whose Force Is Our Desire ,

Pan Whose Voice Is Spoken Through ,

Lover's Cries In Night And Noon ,

Pan Whose Feet Tattoo The Earth ,

As Each New Being Meets It's Birth ,

Pan Above , And Pan Below ,

Pan Be With Us , Where Whither We Go ,

Pan Alive , Magick Afoot ,

As The Seed Doth Flow From Root ,

As Lover's Rut In Heat And Passion ,

And Naked Flesh Is Back In Fashion ,

As The Nymph Asks The Satyr ,

Will He View Her , Or Will He Mate Her ?

Will Standing Stone Meet Faery Ring ,

As Hearts Doth Beat , And Souls Doth Sing ?

Wilt The Spark Become The Flame ,

Consuming All Of Guilt And Shame ,

Leaving Only Joy And Pleasure , To Grow Beyond

All Worlds Of Measure ?

Wilt The Pools Of Pebbles Ripple ,

Reflect The Lips Upon The Nipple ?

Or Wilt The Sound Of Waters Fall ,

Merge With Two Becoming All ?

Wilt Thou Join Me , Dost Thou Dare ?

Give Me Not Thy Feeble Stare ,

Give Me Not Thy Deadened Limbs ,

Give Me Not Thy Mind So Dim ,

Awake , Arise , Become Thy Beast ,

Let Mother's Nature Never Cease ,

To Ebb , And Flow , And Cycle Through ,

This Being Now Ye Call As You ,

This Being Made Of Fire And Earth ,

And Water And Air And Spirit And Mirth !

May You Always Greet The Day ,

In A Wild And Sacred Way ,

And May The Blanket Of The Night ,

Ne'er Cover Your Cries Of Lover's Bite

May The Wolf And Forest Stag ,

Cause Your Feet To Never Lag ,

And May Your Eyes Only See,

The World Through Awe And Mystery !

Be Thou Wild , Be Thou Free , Be As Pan In You And Me !

I am still a beginner in composing my own spells, but I do prefer to say them like a poem; with a rhyme and more elevated words.
When I stared, I just thought ot is good to help the mind differeciate between spell casting and just talking. This way you can for example "curse" someone becasue you are angry at the moment without actually putting a curse on them and channeling your energy into it. Words are just words, untill you make a poem/spell, if you train it like this. Also, reading them might take from the effect of the spell, because the one is concentrated on reading it. If you learn it by hard, and say it, then you can concentrate on each word and channel ylur energy into it. :-)

This is a very interesting subject.

I'm a beginner too at making my own spells but I agree with Wulf.

Thank you Blackwolf for sharing these with us! *smiles*

I'm of the camp that believe that the poetic aspects are a tool for concentration and not exactly a requirement. If it is what works for you then use it. Then again I believe nearly all of the tools and ingredients are just there to focus the practitioner.

The poetic aspect is merely a way to channel the energy, to give your brain that nudge to say "hey! Pay attention, we're doing something important!" Or to get you in the magickal headspace. Some require it others can take it or leave it and simply use it because it's lovely to hear that way, others find it a detriment to their castings.

I find it works well in conjunction witb some of the energy work I do, for example when I enchant an item. The poem creates a template specifying what I want to achieve. Makeing it easier for me to pattern the energy onto the item such that it does what I want.

Over time, after I fell off the horse my "focus" became unfocused...
As time went on it happened more and more often sometimes lasting
a few minutes up to a few hours.
Needless to say since I was worried where the energy would go when I
"was out of it". Its like someone changed the channel and didn't tell me.
I'd hear sound but the words coming out of someone's mouth made no
sense to me-like a different language. Or worst yet the volume is on mute
...caused a few arguments !
My magick had to reworked, undone then re-assembled...now I guess
you can call what I do, "wish magick". All I have to do is ask for it...
no special words or rhythms, just ask correctly. I have to be very careful
with how I word my needs/wants to make sure I get what I'm after.
I don't know if what I do would work for another, maybe just me
since I have this "short in my wiring" ?
I miss doing rituals, not by myself, but with others... I miss working
with other Pagans. My only Pagan friend in my area, is drifting off to
other aspects in her life. Sure we still talk...maybe see each other
a few times a year(sad).
This has caused me to mainly remain solitary until I can find a way
around this so I can work with others again.
So this is my 3-cents, Gentle People
