Does offering and praying go together?

Post by lge »

For example, If I were to get up in the morning and pray to the god/dess , would I make an offering at my altar? Or can i just pray? What to offer? Can I light a candle with flowers, or do I have to have incense, etc.? Vice versa, can I just make an offering because I feel like I should, without praying after?

You don't have to make an offering each time. giving your time to pray to your goddess is at least in my opinion a small offering. If you do feel like making an offer light a candle is another nice and small gesture. Really the offering could be anything you feel like doing, you don't have to pray to make an offer and you don't have to offer to pray.

If you’ve made a pact with a spirit then an offering is an exchange for services.
If you’ve received a kindness then an offering is a show of appreciation.
If you are celebrating 🥳 then an offering is sharing the gifts.
Offerings are not bribes.
