I'm going to be meditating on the significance of into the darkness and rebirth, it reminds me of a underworld journey such as Persephone's only faster. The energy is one of sudden upheaval followed by enlightement.
I'll be viewing it in my little safe viewing box. (For those who are unaware, viewing the eclipse without protective glasses or other indirect viewing tool could permanently damage your eyes, be careful)
Here's an example of a viewing box. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/box ... ector.html
You can also just pop a pin hole in cardboard and project it onto anything.
Happy viewing!

[EDIT] oops didn't see your pin hole sample Xiao, ...welp, the more the merrier?!

Haha, that's okay. More reposts, the better!

Silly me -- I was going to order solar eclipse glasses a week ago, and then for some reason I must have gotten busy and then forgot all about it. Today I went on Amazon to look, and those glasses have nearly tripled or quadrupled in price (the reputable and certified ones, anyways)! Still bought them, because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I definitely paid for the oversight : (

Sitting here tracking the Eclipse with my granddaughter. We're in a 92% totality area. It's getting shady, with a cool breeze. We have our glasses, so we're taking peeks every now and then. I was working at Rocky Flats in 1979. We stood on the loading dock of building 750 and watched the shadows move across plant site.

Eclipse in ks

Post by RyukaAscendant »

Just saw the eclipse. Clouds came out and blocked the totality but it got significantly darker. The energy though was amazing. I felt my third eye open on its own and 20 min later it's still open.

Wow. That was so incredible. My whole office went out to watch -- we had a blast!!!

Apparently, the next solar eclipse is in 2024, and the path of totality will be not too far from me. I know what I'm spending my vacation time on that year!! : )

Soooo cool!
@Snow, you may have had the darkest view?
@ Xiao, what was your percent?
@Ryuka, that's must have been quite an experience, did you anticipate this or was it totally spontaneous? What was the coverage there in Ks?
We had just about 65% in Los Angeles area, :surprisedwitch: here's a couple pic's,
This is the fullest it got for us. The first one is projected with a board held about 6 feet from the ground, it had a hole about the size of a pencil, the closer you got the blurryier it got.

We had a great time hanging out and absorbing this amazing energy,
but dang Xiao! I forgot to put out my water :|
I'll be back with a photo of a couple totems that showed up ::coolglasses::

My area was overcast, and just as things started, about 1:30 our time, It got cloudy. It turned out to be a good thing because, with the reduced glare, I could view the eventual 3/4 crescent at our area's totality with just my two pair of stacked sunglasses. Otherwise I watched a perfect reflection in a black bowl of water, and still needed my sunglasses. Then the wind picked up and stirred the water. There was a pink circle of cloud cover around the union of sun &'moon. A cricket started chirping steadily. Freeway traffic a block away continued at normal pace. I had several bowls of water set out for charging.

It was mostly overcast here but there were enough breaks we could see it, sometimes without even needing the glasses. But no I hadn't expected to feel anything. The front edge of a storm did roll in before totality was reached but you could tell even with the overcast it was like it was 8 or nine in the evening. I was in Kansas city so I was just a bit south of the true totality.

While I wasn't able to charge my mirror like I wanted during the eclipse, I did manage to tie up a witches ladder. It's now stashed away in a cozy little 'grave' until I feel the need for it.

I'm fortunate enough to work at a place that provided eclipse glasses for us all and blocked out an hour of our work day so that we can watch it- super cool stuff. I'll definitely be going to see it in totality in '24.
