Fall Asleep Really Fast

Post by casnarl »

I am sick with a cold, and I feel my depression trying to rear its head and so I really, really just want to sleep and turn my brain off. But the medicine hasn't worked and I have class tomorrow so I can't just get drunk (although my professor probably wouldn't even care) and I've already been laying here for long enough I want to just like snap my fingers and be out for the night and not open my eyes again til my alarm goes off.

Suggestions?

Sometimes things work.. sometimes they don't.
Concentrate on your breathing in - and out- and in and keep bringing your mind back to that focus if you drift off.

I eventually did fall asleep though I'm not sure what time. What ended up working was I burrito'd myself as tightly as I could in my 7 fuzzy blankets and then my cat Sophie got under with me and I attempted to match my breathing to hers. I eventually got so snuggly that I fell asleep just like that.
I didn't stay asleep - 'cause at some point Sophie needed to leave to go do whatever cats do all night, but I managed to get back to sleep relatively quickly.

Pretty tired today though. Crossing my fingers there's gonna be a video in my conservation of natural resources class today, or that he doesn't lecture the full 3 hours, 'cause I'm a little bit brain dead.
