Dream importance

Post by Ashrend »

I ha a rather strange dream last night, so I wanted to ask what your opinion on dream relevance was. I know some think it's nothing but the mind sorting out memories, where as others think it can be messages of importance. What's your theory and its evidence for being the truth?

Our dream bodies are real things, I think.

What was the dream about?

I've had dreams that gave direct how-to instructions like on casting circle, harvesting the willing part of a plant, & driving directions when lost, waay back in the days before there were popular Wiccan books that taught these things, and i had no flesh'n blood teachers available. And I've dream visited far away places that I'd never been to until later, and they were exactly as dreamt. Also ive shared dreams with college room mates & friends out of town, that were confirmed on waking. The dream state is just another level of Consciousness. And sure, most of the time dreams are the subconscious's way of cleaning mental and emotional house...which is a valuable process in itself and shouldn't be considered nonsense. The mind needs maintenance.

Sometimes my dreams are just entertainment at the end of the day. Other times they're visits from those who dwell in the Summerland.

Energy can be changed not destroyed. The electrical dynamisum of our minds hardware does not negate that the self is time free and coherent even without apparatus.

I've seriously considered the possibility the soul departs the body during sleep and is able to traverse both time and space in all directions.

I wish I would remember my dreams here of late...

Dreams, in my opinion(and have read), as we go thru life day in and day out...
Some dreams, are pure entertainment; others are messages, and even scary dreams.
We may miss hints, messages, and even knowledge we need.
Our dreams are like reminders of messages and hints we have missed.
Re-occurring dreams are important messages we've ignored in life.

That being said...I guess no one wants to share messages with me

Checking sources, both living and dead sources (Such as ancient texts) help. But the "truth" is really on the dreamer. It's good to write it down. Sometimes you won't see the reality until a longtime after, deciphering the dream at the time you had it does not always work. But that information will come to you at a future date, in ways most unexpected.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.
