Kali is my matron goddess, but dreamt of Hekate?

Post by rigormortisgirl »

I've had about five dreams of Kali over the past month and I remember I asked years ago for my matron deity to appear when I first started out but no one ever did and the reason being is because I could not understand that life and death are connected and how you can't have one without the other. (I was all for light but not dark in others and in myself..) I integrated both parts of myself and grew to better understand. This year actually.

Well anyways, I started having dreams of Kali and the first one I ever had of her had her and Pele, they both were discussing me. I've had about five dreams of her including one that really was dramatic (she was sweet but the dream scared me in what she was trying to tell me. She appeared blue, but grudge-like and she moved like the Grudge as well and she had her four arms.. )It was then that I realized she was calling me and so, I began to get to know her and research her and it's no wonder she didn't show up before when I asked at age 17.

Anyways, I had a dream that I was speaking to a goddess who addressed herself as the Goddess of the crossroads, however, she told me another name which I found to be one of the many names of Hekate. We were in a field of lavender and There were four roads made of dirt and grass. She assigned me the task of looking after them to make sure no one went down the wrong road and she was watching me from afar. In the dream,it was very sunny and there also was some wheat mixed in with the lavender . For whatever reason, I was watching and I was painting and drawing while doing so. Nothing bad happened and she said I had passed the test. What could this even mean? What test exactly? Can someone enlightenment on opinions. I know Kali and Hekate are similar but for what reason would Hekate contact me and what was the test?

Probably because you ara a witch.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.

I know she's the goddess of witches.. but is this something a lot of witches experience? Her visiting their dreams? What about the test she gave.. that's where I'm confused the most. Why was I given this test and I passed it so what does that mean?

I have experienced it. But Kali ma is also a goddess of witches: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daayan

You should probably ask Hekate yourself. You can always view Hekate as a manifestation of Shakti in a similar vein as Kali.

I think its natural for us witches to be drawn to Hecate because she is the goddess of all witches. As has been suggested just ask her what she is coming to you for.

Hekate must think you are worthy of Her attention ?!?
Wouldn't hurt to read up on Her, She is the Keeper of
the Crossroads, Keeper of the Keys, Defender of those
in need...but most of all, she is who "we" need Her to
be.

The more you practice magic and become more adept at it, Gods and Godesses and other larger beings will get in front of you and get your attention. It's not about who is your matron goddess. You were probably being called to do some sort of work in your dreams. It's no big deal and is common. I would write all the details of your dream down and see if makes more sense down the road. It may not. Just keep doing whatever it is that you are doing and try to understand that the path of magic will put us in service to larger beings so that we can work together as links in a chain to move power from the inner realms into the physical world. Look into Hekate and look at what powers are attributed to her. There is a lot of goddess power waking up these days.
