Thinking about death now
with sweat glistening above my ebony brow
he touched my shoulder with his bony fingers
and brought me into the crease of his blackened robes
where the scent of him still lingers
my trust in you I place
not to guide me to heaven in a haste
may my soul be reborn
in another life I shall not be torn
and forget the sorrows of my past life
to bury all of my agonizing strife
