Heya
Heya
Greetings all, I just acquired a Chromebook this holiday season, and am rediscovering the world of online forums!
I'm a 36-year-old male hailing from the north of Ireland. I became interested in paganism, and the occult as a teenager in the mid nineties. In the past I've been involved with groups relating to the western mystery tradition, but ultimately have settled into the practises around the Gods of this land, as a Gaelic Polytheist in my personal practise. I'm also a Priest in the Alexandrian tradition of Wicca.
That's all I can think of for now. I work in a bar, and also religiously love martial arts! Pleased to be here

Re: Heya
Hail.
Sounds like some original names. Do you speak some former language of the Emerald Isle?

Hail! Yes, Irish, or Gaeilge in Irish, what many refer to as Gaelic. Everyone has to learn it to some extent in school, but there's been a resurgence in using it recently outside the Gaeltacht(small rural, mostly coastal areas where it's still spoken as a first language before English)SL wrote:Hail.

Could you help me with this? http://everythingunderthemoon.net/forum ... 38182.html currently I'm looking pretty much for just any way to get into this language at any stage of its evolution.
Thanks.

Thanks again for the welcomes!
@SL
Yes, the insular Celtic languages would be what you're looking at, which are the Brythonic(Welsh, Cornish), and Goidelic (Irish, Scots Gaelic, Manx). Scots Gaelic descended from Middle Irish, and would be the one you're after that's used in Outlander that created Craigh na Dun. I believe the Duolingo app added Scots Gaelic(Gàidhlig) fairly recently, which is doing well. That'd be a good place to start!
