Spell for someone to let go - Need help

Hi, I'm having trouble with somone letting me go. Without the sob story here are the basics: I've told him it's over, we no longer live under the same roof, but there are kids involved. He can be manipulative and hateful and I worry for his safety, but I also worry for mine. He can't seem to get it through his head that things are over. I'm having trouble writing a spell that will help him realize it's over without totally being gone (considering the kids, who he needs to be around for) Any ideas? I'm fairly new to writing my own spells as well so I don't want to word it incorrectly and send the wrong message.
