I'm trying to find a good Saraswati and Durga statue to set up altars for them. I make my own deity candles. Buy the 7 day glass candles from places. Then I find an image I like and print it out on sticky paper and add to the candle. I light these when I can to honor them.

I already mentioned chanting their mantras but I also like to think them daily so I'll say "Thank you Durga for your blessings of power, courage, strength and protection". Then I'll chant her mantra 9 times.

That is a very clever idea with the candles! I tend to use gold & silver candles but I bet could find a way to do something similar. I like the idea of my candle holders have art that I picked because I wanted it rather that something I picked because it was the nicest option.

Does anyone burn your God & Goddess, Goddess,
or just God(s) candles that are on the alter ?
My alter is only on top shelf of a desk in bedroom,
I think they would be too close to the wall. I don't
think I've ever lit them...
*scratches head, too hard-ouch!*
thinking about putting something else there...
not sure what tho ? Hubby and me got Walmart
gift card to share, ten dollars each. I'm still
thinking about getting some modeling clay and
see what I can come up with *shrugs shoulders*
I fell in love with one when cruising thru all the
Goddess statues, kept it in my wish list/favorites
but never got around to getting it. I'm stingy, I
like to get as many things as I can with the
money/gift cards I get from my survey sites.
I think I babbled enough myself... :?

I love St Francis of Assisi's Canticle of the Sun...it's very pagan, addressing the sun, moon, earth and four elements, life and death.
