I like this idea Holda!
Led Zeppelin has always been a spiritual experience for me. I remember writing in a journal when I was a teen, that the closest I had ever felt to God, if there was a God, it would be dancing around the room to Led Zeppelin ORThe Doors, My 2 favorite bands in the world. The other two you posted I am not familiar with.
If I go clockwise though, the Doors are the 4th one listed in that spiral. So the ones to the right of the Doors are the Arctic Monkeys?

Not rock music per se, but I've used a line from "A Very Cellular Song" by the Incredible String band to invoke nature spirits in ritual.

"Black hair, brown hair, feather, and scale, seed and stamen and all unnamed lives that live"

(There are probably a lot of other parts of the song that could easily be used in ritual as well. I particularly like "who would mouse and who would lion, or who would be the tamer? And who would hear directions clear from the unnamable namer?).

Yeap I would say in the last three months I heard them and got hooked. Queens of the Stone Age is Joshua Homme Sometimes people know him more than the band.

I remember being a child and feeling something very powerful from George Harrison's "Within You Without You". I truly believe in the power of music and love your taste..especially Josh Homme. Led Zeppelin is beyond words....never thought of taking their lyrics and using them twin this context. Cool.

PS: In my opinion, George went on to have the best solo career of any of the four of them. His first two albums in particular, All Things Must Pass and Living in the Material World, are both masterpieces.

Oh, I thought of another good source! I hope it's ok that I'm interpreting this threat as "Popular music and magic" rather than specifically rock music. The freak folk/indie pop artist Joanna Newsom writes really beautiful and intricate poetry for her lyrics, steeped in many layers of metaphor, and I think some of it could probably be adapted to spell work. The most obvious source of an incantation is this line, though it may be problematic, because she's (I think deliberately) mixing up meteorites and meteoroids:

I say whatever music works for a person they should use. If it's powerful for you, go for it.
