Friday the 13th - Full Moon

Post by Christyness »

If my information is correct, there won't be another full moon on Friday the 13th until 2049.

Is there a special significance to Friday the 13th in your system of belief? If so, what is it?

Anyone have any special plans for rituals or spell work next Friday?

As far as I know, Friday the 13th is actually a fairly new superstition. I think it came about in the 1800s. I don't have any particular aversion to that day, however, a-lot of people do. Since so many people believe in this Friday the 13th superstition, there will most likely be a-lot of extra energy you can throw into your spells and rituals.
This is just my opinion anyway.
Other than that, It's a pretty cool occurrence you can joke about to your friends.

Come and taste of the cauldron's brew and magic she will give to you

The idea of Friday the 13th being unlucky stems from the Knights Templar, this was in the early 1300s .

The number 13 is actually luck for my parents; when they got their first house, when they signed their marriage license, when they found out they were pregnant with me... Friday the 13th is lucky for my family XD

Ooooo I just looked again at my ephemeris, and the moon is void-of-course, on the 12th @ 9:11 pm but goes direct on the 13th at 10:04 am...this is in the PDT zone. Void-of-course moons can be challenging, not a time to make major decisions we can feel uncomfortable and disconnected. This when you need to go within and nurture the spirit, and center oneself, material concerns go on the back burner for now.
This is the Time-of-Brightness moon in my trad. What makes you shine?

Lots of moon stuff this year. No real significance for me as far as tradition but it 's going to be fun I think. I am making up a moon ritual just for Friday.

I didnt do anything for the full moon. I had too much going on and didnt have time to plan. Shouldve charged/cleansed all my crystals. I did carry my Snowflake Obsidian all day to help keep me protected and balanced.
