Some quick advice

Post by Sercee »

1) It takes time

Not many people are born with the talent to manipulate energy and cast spells. You have to learn how.

2) It takes patience

Sometimes it takes many tries before you master something or even get it to show signs of working. Meditation, for example, takes work.

3) Do your research

Just cause it's on a cool website or TV doesn't mean it's real. Learn what you're getting into and learn what it means or you could get hurt or sick. Foxglove is a beautiful flower, but simply deciding that you like herbalism doesn't make it less poisonous.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Maybe we could share our thoughts?

. Don’t burn poisonous plants - even the smoke is dangerous
. Learn to banish before you summon
. Opening portals you can’t close invites trouble to you
. Keep an altar elementally balanced to avoid creating spell-backfire. Nature restores the balance at your expens$e
. Incantations tell the power you cast what you want it to do

Easy circle - start & end @north
- Sweep🧹widdershins↪️, light incense; 👉🏼 & push to cast a circle moving ↩️deosil; no summoning is done
. Widdershins ↪️ clears stagnation & dispels harm; deosil ↩️ activates

Wicca - Guide for Solitary Practitioners free pdf
https://cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/relig ... tioner.pdf

. Read “Wicca” & then skim the text again for high points, Q’s & A’s & write them down
. Practice psi balls - hold yours hands 2-3 inches apart, palms facing; think it to pull energy on the breath to the solar plexus and push through the hands 🙌🏽; you’ll feel a subtle pushback between your palms; shake your hands to clear the energy
. Go outside and feel Nature with all your empathic-senses & send greetings; leave 🍞💦 offerings
. Build a starter kit - candles, incense, cup, salt, olive oil, a few kitchen herbs, a smooth palm-stone
..

Be able to both laugh at and be kind to yourself but don't expect the same from others.

Remember everyone is to a lesser or greater degree struggling with something.

Make mistakes your lessons.

Many things are subjectively good and objectively bad (or vice versa), this illustrates duality and eventually the alignment of paradox.

Keep some kind of journal.

Care for the 'environment' begins at an arms span: your relationships, those things within your power to effect.

Certainty murders possibility: Keep an open mind but practice discernment.

Never plan out the destination before you set a foot out the door. Leave room to be amazed.

Read between the lines.

Put the books down and absorb the world around you and nature. Slow down and observe. Knowledge is one thing, understanding quite another.

Honesty and truthfulness have a faith - they have a power all of their own in spiritual coorespondances, they forge powerful allies and rewarding relationships.

Fearfulness attracts the fearsome. Be bold. You always have the sovereign right to walk away from anything or anyone.

There is always a solution (a way to move forward) within the craft, you just need to be crafty enough to find the knack.

The golden Maxim of eclecticism: does it work? (too much time can be wasted on things that do not work).

Remember: you are the alchemist, instigator and catalyst. It is in your power to create change.

If in doubt, ask a peer. You are not contractually obliged to believe or follow their ideas.

What you believe today probably won't be what you have discovered by tomorrow - don't let that stop you doing anything today.

Be careful what you ask for when working your magic. You just might get it.
Are you prepared to face the consequences.
Be specific, else the powers that be give you something completely different.
Use positive statements in working your craft, negative words will negate your directive.

All things magical, from spells to creatures and spirit entities, should be taken seriously. This isn't a game, this isn't like the books and movies. Research is important. Learn and study things beforehand. Use common sense. And if something seems risky, possibly dangerous, or if you aren't sure about something, don't mess with it.

If you work with or summon magical creatures, always treat them with kindness and respect. Do not order them to do something. Do not try to enslave them or treat them like a pet. It's better to ask them for their help, politely, and they will do what they can if they chose to. I can't stress the importance of this enough. And please be careful about working with certain creatures. Again, if you aren't sure about something or there is a possible risk, don't mess with it.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies.
Love knows no limits, not even death.

I hope it's okay to say something to this, but I think this is a bit too general maybe.

You should absolutely treat yourself kindly, and you shouldn't expect others to do the same for themselves (as everyone has their own journey and it's not for you to decide what they do when). But you can expect from yourself to surround yourself - if possible - with kind and respectful people.
This is the energy you surround yourself with at the end of the day. Negative influences in form of negative people can drain you or pull you down with them.

Seems there should be a 4th

4) It takes practice.
Practice, practice, practice.

Do not be in a hurry and do not try to push the river.
One of the ideas behind "a year and a day" is to see if this is really a path for you. If after truly practicing that span of time you are not interested or feel you have learned it all, the this is not for you.
If after that span of time you thirst for more, and find fulfillment in your practice you may have just found home.
