So what's your tool of choice?

Both. Most people love to use wands. Me? I am more about athame, especially when banishing, protection, and defending myself against baneful spirits and magick. The iron gets rid of evil.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.

I'm a knife girl primarily but I use both.
My floral blade has been blessed to be a travel tool. Some people would never cut anything but the air with their athame but this knife has been dubbed multi-purpose, largely because I have it with me all the time. I cut food, air and flowers with it, then I carve a wand with it !

Both - it depends on what I'm doing & where I'm working. If I'm outdoors I'd use my simple, wood-handled athame & draw earth energy to cast circle, but on full moons I'd use my DIY wand to draw down moonlight (because I point it at myself). Indoors I prefer the wand, and since the past summer solstice I've been twitchy with some metals, especially iron  which is a bummer because I really like to use a cauldron. :annoyed: .

Once I've seen an obsidian dagger from Okinawa said to be sold on the net for approx. 600€ - a sharp one.
Then Mexican ritual one - not sharp - for some 30-35€.

The one from Okinawa would be the great but I wonder if there'd be some less expensive version of a sharp obsidian knife.

I don't use wands and my knife is used for cutting. Whether ritual cutting or actual cutting.

I'm more of a wand person, though the one I have is quite plain looking. I designed it myself, with sentimental charms that make it special and help raise positive energy when using it.

There is a crystal tied to the end, close to the handle, with a silver ribbon to hold it in place. The ribbon is leftover from the first spell I cast, and the crystal belonged to my grandmother. She had several crystals hanging up in her room. I used to look at them when I was little, watching the way they created a prism of colors all over the walls when the sun touched them. Now her crystals belong to me, and whenever I look at them it brings back memories from when I was a kid, sitting and looking at all the beautiful colors on the wall.

Would you be willing to show your wand? A few pictures?

I'm a little embarrassed because it's rather plain. Not as fancy as the others you might find out there. But I'll go ahead and share a picture or two.

I have a unicorn letter opener that I use as my athame. It feels nice and weighty in my hand, it's the right shape, but it's dull enough that I don't worry about accidently cutting something I shouldn't (I do not need to wield sharp objects. I recently sprained a toe tripping over a boot. I can't imagine the havoc I could spread with anything sharper than kid scissors).

I remember when I broke my foot filling the water dish for the cats. Went off balance, twisted my foot, broke a tarsal bone.
