Ya know, I used to wear them all the time but practicality won over in many cases. I frequently wear my jeans and a tee shirt to ritual or maybe throw a cape over that if it's chilly. But I got to admit, ( I've probably said this before) one of my best memories of the procession to the hill was see those folks all in their black robes or capes floating down the trail several hundred feet or more ahead and sometimes off in the mist as this place we went would get a micro climate and frequently would produce ground fog in the late evening. It was surreal. Less people come these days so I really glad to have those memories. It's definitely an ordeal to hike out to a hill till the wee hours of the morn, even I can't take it much any more.

Oh, I'm all for being able to wear robes if you like them. I guess they may make me feel more magical or help me tune myself to the ritual. I've just never felt the need to wear them. I must admit they look great though. I like the middle age vibe to some robes.
Still not my thing, but I guess it couldn't hurt to try some day, now that I think about it.

Things I don't use

Runes - never been part of by upbringing and not been able to get into them later.
Cords/Knots - I have disabilities making it hard for me to even tie shoes.
Tea leaves/coffee grounds - if I need to divine something I use nature itself or cards.

Things I use seldomly but will probably use more

Knives/Athame - usually only rarely in rituals or when searching for a ritual space in the woods
Wands - same as above
Crystals - they do come out in rituals, mainly when my partner designs them.
Robes - only in some rituals as they are impractical and I am a klutz.
Journals - writing is painful for me.

Things I use relatively often

Potions made from different things
Certain items -rings, amulets etc - charged with magic.

Things I use a lot

Candles, scented or not, and Incense of different types
Tarot and Oracle cards. Made my own, too.
The elements around me. Water and wind are my favorite.

Sure I have forgotten some things.
