Maude Adams

Post by SapphireRoad »

Maude Adams was born 11/11 1872 in Salt Lake City.

If that day be Siddhe Samhain, or Samhain of the Old she was indeed in a suitable role in that Pan Theatre piece where she blew fairy dust on fellow actors.
She was born with Pluto-Sun opposition giving her magnetism... also resulted in quarrel with authorities among directors. Made her lose her career as top actress yet she didn't seem to mind. Went to school and taught acting young ones. I saw her footage, she seemed very happy there. In case you have some insider stories about her life, please let me know.

Blessed she be
I'm trying to draw her all the time
Now finally switching to dry-brush oil painting, finally giving it some sentiment:

This picture, while it doesn't look like Maude exactly, has a bit of her essence there and is actually quite good. The eyes are amazing.

You’re starting to get the feel of portraits.

Thanks... now I can't even buy tiny brush for details... after 60 portraits with coal this is 3rd attempt of dry brush.
I feel stupid actually the ghost of this woman visited me after I made the portrait, yet the point of my training always was to draw visions of dead.. who in turns can get upset by losing the perk of invisibility. The reason I keep doing this is similar to why I'm still writing here... when I draw some mysterious power gets stirred, it is addictive as it raises the energy.

Yeh, I’ve done a few acrylic paintings and I mentally vanish while working. Coming back to the here and now is always a surprise. It’s not where I was when I was painting, that’s for sure.

I had a friend that used to use his own hair to do detail painting on cars. Tape your hair to a stick. Viola! paintbrush. Floral tape works better but you probably don't have that in your back pocket. You might find a study in foreshortening to help your perspective.

The eyes you complimented were the part I did with keen joy mostly, rest was done rather with focus to do it well. I can imagine my hair to make a brush would make the things way more personal, for everything done with that. A strong magic.

One thing I took from Harry Potter, that when you have a portrait of somebody and they visit you... you can feel the presence in the portrait stronger and how it becomes enlivened.

I looked up the foreshortening.

I think it is about the expression of enthusiasm in space which is artistically agile.
Only problem being that geometry and drawing are things in which I am one of the worst of the worst.

Yeah foreshortening is interesting.
Older I get less vague is my idea why Maude got rejected by ruling male authorities. Any insider stories?
