Mrs. O'b

Post by Firebird »

A strong disturbance in the force today, I have felt ill and wanted to cry all day...for no apparent reason.
Until tonight, my mother called and it all made sense.
See ...my parents had some really good best friends that we did everything with when us kids were young. We considered their kids our calabash cousins. The mom was like our auntie. Last time I saw her was at another of my parents good friends funeral. I'm awfully glad I saw her then. That was about 2 years ago. She had been on my mind quite a bit in the last several days and weeks. Had even proposed to drive my mother out there so she could visit her and her husband. Now the trip we will make is to her funeral.
Such a strong giving and caring woman who's vocation had been nursing, a talented craftswoman, seemstress ... and boy, could she cook up a grand feast. She was a devout Christian, her roots were Icelandic, and she was so excited to have finally visited the place of her ancestry. She was 91. She had a good life, and she will be missed.
Please send light to her husband her children and her grandchildren.
Rest with peace Mrs. O'b
Much love,
from

Thank you again you guys,
was so good to see folks we hadn't seen in a long long time.
Went to their house after the service, I remember when they bought the house, it was new 50 years ago...it was like stepping back in time. Us kids yacking it up like the old days days only now we have our own kids...who have their own kids. Dang were getting old.
Blessed be this temporary Earth walk, I am really happy to have known and been a part of this family. I love you Mrs. O'b, you lived one amazing life, may the next be as wonderful. You were a gift, and my heart is broken.
