Altar of the Hex

Post by L.J.Hex »

So, here's what's on mine today. :) Things will change many times, that's for sure, but I still like to keep things simplistic, I might get some stuff out too as I don't like clutter. Newest additions are the red and black cord, my latest charm, red candle cups for small candles, bunch of pretty seashells and different gems. I got new pieces of tiger's eye and also three pieces of spectrolite, its Finnish labradorite, the most colorful kind in the world, only found in one place in south Karelia. Its a very magical stone. In dim light pitch black but when light reflects on it, it lights up in all colors of the rainbow and neat patterns, stripes and all.

On the top pic there's bunch of candles I bought. I even found pale blue ones this time. :)

You like it SpiritTalker?

I got some new things today... I'm starting to be at the limit now, I want to keep it minimalist and without clutter. Soon I will start to choose what to have on it. I got a friend in US who's been gathering very cool things to gift for me. She was so happy when I made her a charm, soon I will run out of space or need a bigger altar. :flyingwitch:

You've managed both feelings of vibrance with color & restful without clutter.

Thank you. :D

I have thought of making a low small shelf to get some of the things lifted from the surface. That way I could also add some more without having anything "extra".

IF and when it gets to that point, I will make another altar at the other end of the house. xD I will not allow this spot to be full of too many things. :D

I wish I had an entire room for this.

My altar as it is now, I had a long break from anything witchy and finally set things up for Beltane. I wish I had some more colorful cloth for summer, something green or brown or orange. I should try to find one. I have been thinking for ages to get four to match the seasons. I wonder if you guys have even seen the latest things I got, I found eight red glasses which are perfect for matching each sabbat... And the cauldron, and a chalice. Those pine cones are from a thunder struct pines, I ended up finding five of them in the same forest just next to each other. I gathered some moss, branches and pine cones from them.

Nice Mr. Hex :) The cups are really cool, and what is a thunder struck pine cone? BTW, try a thrift store (if they are open) I sometimes use old clothes cut up especially a skirt whose elastic has worn out.

Pine cones from a pine tree which has been hit by lightning. Fail English. :P

Good idea. :D But a total needle in the haystack hunt for right color + size + some nice symbols... I got lucky last time with all the latest things, I got them all in one place. Oh and another incense holder.

Which one? There's several there. :D The big one is from a Metso, I don't remember its name in English, its one of those big forest birds and that feather is from its tail. Perfect for smudging. Would make an awesome pen too.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that it actually does resemble a turkey... Its also hunted for food, I have never tried how it tastes like, but would guess it must be quite good.

Last year I saw one of these guys from up close, its stunningly pretty. The pictures wont give it credit, its bigger than it might seem at the first glance.
