My first altar.

Post by Ròcas Cearcall »

I can't keep anything set up permanently, so it is a working altar for whatever spellwork or ritual I am doing at the time. It works, even if it isn't very creative at this point. The black mirror and rune bag aren't always out, but they were being consecrated.

The wand was originally part of the root system of a small clearing of dead trees that a crow led me to as a sacred space. I found it near a creek that flows around the clearing like an island. The wand has insect trails carved in to it that look like rune engravings. I once tried to cap it with rutilated quartz and brass wire, but no matter what I did, and no matter how much glue I used, the quartz wouldn't stick. The wand kept rejecting it. I decided that the wand wanted to stay as it was.

For a 1st altar this is amazingly complete and gets the job done. And I like your wand too. That has character.
