My Altars over time

Post by Raevyn »

Hi everyone, I just wanted to show you my altars over the course of a year in hopes that it might inspire you or give you new ideas :D .

This was one of my first altars, it was only set up for usage then all packed away:
Image

This was my second altar, this time I made room in my cupboard under the TV unit (due to being in the 'broom closet' and living with my parents):

This was my third set up, very similar to the 2nd:

This was my forth set up, in honor of the Water element:

This is my fifth set up in honor of the Earth element:

My sixth set up was for Beltane (the first pagan holiday I have participated in, although I have been studying Witchcraft, Paganism, Wicca for 6 years, I have never felt 'ready' to participate in rituals, spells or holidays):

This is my current and most recent set up for Litha (Southern Hemisphere witch here):

I'm planning to follow the Wheel of the Year this year and plan to regularly change my altar for each of the celebrations.
Feel free to leave any tips or suggestions. Also while I'm here and you're still reading, I'm currently looking for suggestions for my Lammas (or Lughnasadh) altar, so feel free to leave any suggestions! :D

Thanks! I always try to use colours that represent the holiday or theme.

Thank you! I think the Beltane and Litha ones turned out great!
Do you guys have any suggestions for a Lammas altar? I'm thinking of keeping the yellow/gold theme (like in Litha set up) but taking away the flowers and maybe adding more harvesty type decorations in honor of the holiday.

I love all of them!

Especially the Water, Earth and Beltane!
The one with The cat is looking awesome as well. Was that in honor of Bastet?

Your altars are so beautiful! I love your current one! All the little flower candles. I wish I could make even my ONE altar this as beautiful as any of these!

This was my altar last year for Lammas. Just wanted to update this thread as my altar changes. I haven't had a altar for awhile now as I've been really busy in my final year of University and pregnant (baby boy was born in December last year). We've also moved out and everything is still chaos, which is a shame since I had a really fantastic idea/plan for Samhain.

I'm hoping when things are more settled I will be able to create my beautiful altars again. Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments! Designing and picking up all the pieces for my altar is all apart of the fun!

Enjoy my Lammas altar.

I know I am late to the party but these are fantastic. You've given me some great ideas. These are gorgeous.

I’m also late to the party but I just had to say that water altar you did was absolutely stunning, I felt a strong feeling of relaxation as soon as I looked at it. You can really visualise that space filled with water. Very well done.
Blessed be.
