I finally had the guts to make a permanent altar...
I upgraded... a lot... teeheehee
So this is my new permanent altar, I'll still use my painted stones when I do ritual outside.
Here we have Aphrodite, silver candle, feathers and some Eucalyptus leaves (which is everywhere here!), incense burner, some leaves and bark that talked to me, seashells, rose quartz and another clear rock I found that I felt connected to. Also a candle (I like fire, I'm Aries)
On this side we have Cernunnos, gold candle, some sand with twigs in (I tried to represent Cernunnos' antlers), feathers, dried leaves, a wine glass (I couldn't find a chalice ANYWHERE!) Tiger's Eye and some other rock I found, and my awesome cauldron, also another candle, because Aries. And some sea salt.
Ah, it seems like only yesterday I was asking if I needed a pentagram (oh yeah, it WAS yesterday)... I'm not much of a painter, but... I got a glass plate. And some acrylic. Peels off easily. I need to be careful with this. Can't put anything on it.
And that's my new altar. I'm really happy with it...

I figured my dad's a little ignorant so if he asked, I'd just tell him the symbol represents the stars to me... Lol ... my brother doesn't care much. He knows by now. To him it's all fiction. He even tried to get a wooden board for me, but nobody wants to cut a round one. So I just went with the plate.TwilightDancer wrote:Very nice! The plate looks great!

Can I paint the nail varnish just over the paint itself? Or do I need to paint the whole plate?Ivy wrote:beautiful, and a few coats of clear nail varnish or marine gloss and your plate will last for ages

Nice! I like how the two portions for your gods kind of pull the whole piece together.

Yeah I tried to place the items I associate with each one of them near their pictures. and it ended up looking pretty good in the end.SirisDerp wrote:Nice! I like how the two portions for your gods kind of pull the whole piece together.

How did you get your pentacle so even and strait?
Masking tape? Draw it first with ruler?
Help me! Lolololol. When I paint pentacles they always look off and Wiggly.

Very nice! And, making it yourself makes it more meaningful, doesn't it?

Well, I went online and downloaded a stencil. Printed it out, cut out the stencil and just pasted it onto the plate. Not with a super adhesive glue, because you do need to take it off again. Just to stop it sliding around. And then I just painted over that.Katrinkah wrote:How did you get your pentacle so even and strait?

It certainly does. It took a lot of work and concentration. It's hard to paint on glass man! LolMyrth wrote:Very nice! And, making it yourself makes it more meaningful, doesn't it?
