Brightheart's Altar

Post by Brightheart »

Hello, guys!

I was just recently able to buy a few more things for my altar! Since I find it presentable now, I thought I'd share it! Its a permanent altar, for the most part. It rests on my main dresser within my room.

On it, I keep various gemstones that I find to be important, my Book of Shadows, glass menagerie, natural items that I found to be spiritually potent ( such as the feather and smooth stones), and candles. Green is the for the feminine, blue is for the masculine, and white is for the expansive energies of the universe!
Empathy is really the opposite of spiritual meanness. It's the capacity to understand that every war is both won and lost. And that someone else's pain is as meaningful as your own.

Is there a story for the head-band on the skull? It made me smile.

That's really lovely, thank you for sharing.
Love your leather bound book, I have a similar one obtained at the Ren Faire, are the lleaves made of linnen?

Awesome altair! I so love the skull and like ST, said, is there a story behind the badaid? It makes it look like a farm lady from the 19th century, in the funny sense ;-)

Thank you guys for the responses! :)

For those who are wondering, I found the skull at a flea market in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - and the headband was actually one of the main reasons that I bought it, cleansed it, and added it to my altar! Symbolism is a powerful thing, and for me, the skull represents the mental/emotional struggles that I've experienced and overcome. It's a reminder that my past hardships made me stronger and wiser. Most importantly, that my hardships do not define me.

And yes, I do believe the pages of the book are linen!

Well, seven years later and the altar got a bit bigger. :)
